I have chimed in already on this issue in this thread, but let me do so again.

This is a great modification for a STREET car. You know, the cars that are rarely if ever driven on any kind of a racetrack.

I combined the F-150 manifold with my LUND FF tune, and the mid-range pull when passing other peeps (old people at the wheel/Prius drivers/semi-big rigs) is fantastic!

The kick in the back upon acceleration, and when the transmission (A6 in my case) up-shifts to the next gear is a riot!

I sold my 2018 manifold/PNP & "Y" harnesses/big injectors because I am more than happy with my lowly, cheap-ass, trailer-camp, white-trash, tornado-bait, F-150 manifold. It's never coming off the engine in my 2016 GT.

Did that you get any top end with the tune??

Brandon from LUND was working with me on my FF tune, and looked over my data-logs when finalizing my tune after I put on the F-150 manifold.

I was having a vacuum leak that turned out to be the evap purge valve had failed and stuck in the open position allowing un-metered air into the intake stream, post the MAF sensor.

Once that was figured out, my (93/E85) fueling was spot-on, my engine was seeing as much as 30 degrees of ignition advance at WOT, the knock sensors were happy and not pulling any timing, and the car pulls STRONG to 7200rpm which is the rpm Brandon wanted me to run the car up to during my WOT logs.

When driving the car day-to-day, I never rev the engine above 6500rpm or so.

I don't give a shit about potential peak HP numbers at 7800rpm. How often would I drive the car at that RPM??

I want more torque baby..., TORQUE!

My car pulls STRONG. I am more-than-happy with my combo of:

1. Pypes Long-Tube headers w/no CATs
2. X-Pipe
3. Roush Axle-backs
4. LUND E85/FF tune
5. GT350 CAI
6. Trailer-Camp, White-Trash, Tornado-Bait, Low-Sloping-Forehead, Knuckle-Dragging, Neanderthal, low-tech, completely un-sexy, F-150 intake manifold.

Dude 7200 rpm is more than enough to make me happy. Not loosing power at 6800-7k is all i was concerned about. I wanna auto-x and this manifold won’t hurt. I just wanna know if i run to 7k it’s not gonna fall flat. Thanks for all that info VooDoo. Ok someone selling one of these let me know please!

Should I use a plug or just buy the F150 map sensor for the hole in the back of the intake?

Too many people get wrapped up in peak numbers. Power under the curve is where this intake really shines. If I gain 15-20hp and 20-60 ftlbs of torque from 2000 to 6500 rpm then I don’t give a damn if I lose 10hp at 7000 rpm.

That’s true. I just don’t want a huge drop off. 10hp at 7k isn’t bad. I mean from 6800-7k is what like 1/10 of a second anyways. On the street not a big deal.

But again if people have any for sale let me know. Seeing them for over 100 on eBay. I’ll keep looking though.

Here is what you need. You should be able to find them at any good hardware store. It is a perfect fit; they snap securely in place. Once they are in, the only way to get it out would be to break it or drill it?? Maybe put a dab of silicone around the outside edge after it "clicks" into place like I did?

To give you peeps some data to evaluate how my car pulls with my FF tune and the "Tornado Bait" intake manifold, I took a quick look at my last 3rd gear WOT log.

Here is what it can tell us:

With my 6R80 in 3rd gear, with 3.15 rear gears, it took my car 5.83 seconds to accelerate from 73mph @4,500rpm to 116mph @7,200rpm.

My car RIPPPPS!!! to 7,200rpm.

If I were to swap the rear pumpkin for a set of 3.55's, my car would be an absolute rocket ship!

I got 3.73 so it should be fun. I don’t have headers and i just have a 91 tune. But plan to go E85 when i get to Cali as it’s more available where i am going

I’d love to see that log file if possible? Would like to see how it looks from 6k and up. If you could send it to me that would be greatly appreciated, might try it and hold off on the 18 intake for now .
