Well literally after 12 months of deliberation I finally took delivery of my Edelbrock TVS2300 kit today! I know it's the older kit but I got a pretty good deal and couldn't say no!

I am so glad I have come across this thread (all 80 pages read).

I am not a mechanic but I like to tinker. However this is by far the biggest install I have done on any of my cars.

I am taking my time. I've got some upgraded injectors and BAP still on the way so there is no hurry at this stage.

So far so good.

My kit arrived with the plastic IAT sensor. I have emailed Edelbrock but not sure of @Edelbrock Tech can provide info on how to get the brass sensor?

I am not too pushed for time but really need to get it done by the end of next week. I am in Australia so I have to allow for shipping times etc... How difficult is it to remove the IAT sensor once all installed?

I am sure I will have more questions to come. I got the 812 belt and hoping it fits!

Cheers.
We are in the same boat. I just had my Edelbrock Stage 2 kit delivered 5 minutes ago. Have read through this thread a few times and going to do it again before I start the install this Friday night. Want to make sure I have everything and know every little trick everybody has posted.

This will be my biggest install to date as well. The only experience I have had with a supercharger was in my Dodge Charger. I had a company install it and always regretted it. It never seem to run right and really wished I would have attempted it myself. At least then I would have known how it all went together. I am going to though the install with my two 14 year old sons that are extremely car crazy. I think they are more excited than I am to see it on the car and go for a ride. Should be a fun father/son bonding experience with them. I do have a bother in law that is a mechanic and told him he might have to stop by to help out this weekend if I get stuck.

Thanks to everybody that has posted in this thread and if you have anything I should know in advance I appreciate it.

Yesterday I finished installing the tensioner brackets/pulleys. The torque settings seem to be fairly low. I presume no it's not a typo. The instructions also said to use bolts/ washers from bag 3 (intercooler hardware). I think that was def a typo as those bolts do not exist in that bag....

But it is tight in the when it comes to installing belt....

Quick question.

In the instructions #88, it says to attach the supplied vacuum cap onto the aspirator.

Where was your cap placated in the kit packaging? It’s not on the parts inventory and wasn’t in the bags. Was it loose in the box with the hoses? I can’t find it and I’m worried it’s stuck in one of the hoses I’ve already installed. Doing it a little out of order as timing goes...

I didn’t see it on the parts list so didn’t inventory it. But now doing the installation, it says it’s supplied.

Help is appreciated!

Thanks!

I used a coarse screw that completely sealed the opening. I do not believe there was a cap there in the kit. You can buy a cap from home depot or grainger if you wanna be fancy

Thanks.

I used a plug that I already had, so if it’s missing it’s no biggie. I’m more concerned if the plug actually came loose in the box with the hoses and finding its way inside one of them. I’ve already installed the LTR / tank ones but didn’t think to check inside. If the plug was to come in one of the hardware bags, then that’s fine and it couldn’t be inside one of my hoses.

This is more of a “did you get a plug and where was it packaged” than anything else.

Just looking to save some time in not having to take off the hoses that I just installed.

Thanks for the help everyone!!

Just a follow up; i had / have the leaking surge tank going on. first it was coming out pretty good (once hot) out the cap. They had a bad batch of caps so I got a new one from O'Riellys, the exact same one, and no leak. Well, from the cap that is. The front house has a leak as well, much less than the cap, but still leaking coolant. I read some had to replace the surge tank as it had leaking "nipples." :) I plan to see if I can adjust the clamp and/or add another one.

Good old-fashioned screw clamp fixed it for me.

replaced the kit clamp or just add this one as second? behind or in front of the kit clamp. AND glad to hear it sounds like an easy fix.

I just moved the original toward the nipple and put the screw clamp behind it. My bumper was already back on and I didn’t want to risk not getting the hose seated and having to take it all back apart.

If you have access to a borescope it will come in real handy. The bolts that hold the SC down need the SC to be precisely positioned they are a tight fit and and the SC is heavy which makes moving it around small amounts a real challenge vaseline is your friend. The fuel rails are a pita as well so if your kids arent used to swearing make sure they go inside for that part LOL. I did OPG' s and upgraded crank sprocket so i had the front off and stood under the hood to lift the SC on, its stupid heavy since it is all one piece.

I've got the TVS 2300. I'm going to use the factory throttle body.

The instructions say to use the factory gasket and transfer to the SC. There is no way that blue gasket will fit the SC...

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

No o ring. The installation manual says use factory... I might have to contact Edelbrock. But I've been having trouble getting confirmation about the brass sensor from them as well. Just delivery wise to Australia. I just don't wanna piss them off with a million emails....

Stressing me out....

Don’t stress about the O-ring. They’re entirely reusable. something I should mention though, specific to RHD cars, is the fuel line. I’ll throw some pics up for you tomorrow. You’ll probably need to grab some bits to make it work properly.
