I said goodbye to my base a few months back. Now I have the performance pack.

Cons:
Hate that there's no boost gauge in the center display. However it only goes up to 20 psi anyway. So after a tune it wouldn't matter.

Wheels/tires. Nice finish, hate the design and they're so goddamn heavy I'll be downsizing to my old 18's once the Pirelli's wear out.

3.55 gears are a wash. They're fun. I liked the 3.35's in my base a bit better. Slightly better highway and you don't need help staying in the power band with this motor so shorter gears aren't super necessary.

Pros: Everything else.

Upgraded radiator may not be a big deal to some but here its 90-100 degrees for close to 6 months out of the year.

Brakes - Good lord, the brakes are SO much better on the PP. Worth it for the damn brakes alone! The base brakes felt adequate but I was a little disappointed in them. This is a heavy car that can get up to 100mph pretty quickly, it could use some bigger brakes. These things are no joke I'm telling you.

Suspension - The base suspension felt like a Cadillac. The thing would practically float over speed bumps and the like. The PP is glued. Highway ramps can be taken faster and the car lays more flat through corners. Bumps don't give you the two seconds of undulating feedback that the base did. Much stiffer ride. You only need springs if you want to lower the car. The standard PP stiffness is very sporty.

I justified not getting it before. Now that I have it, it is totally worth it.

My only dislike is the tires...wish they gave us all season tires with the PP (like the P-Zero Neros that are on the GT's). Make the dudes who really want to track the car pay for the extra sticky rubber :-D P.S. If you want sticky tires, there are even better options than the P Zero...

I don't have a performance package but I agree with you about the base brakes, they do suck.

The brake upgrade alone is worth it. I cannot explain how amazing these brakes feel.

I think overall, for someone is who just going to enjoy the car for what it is without dumping aftermarket parts into it, the PP is a hell of a deal.

I abstained because I knew I was going to replace those items with much higher performance oriented parts so I would rather start with the cheaper part.

Upsized rear sway bar (Fastback only)
>Steeda Adjustable. This car reacts well to sway, it's nice to have the option to adjust, current middle ground is the most it needs.
• Unique chassis tuning -
>Sure...
• Larger brake rotors with 4-piston calipers -
>Nope, because Brembos.
• Unique 19” x 9” Ebony Black aluminum wheels
>275's fit better on my 19.5's squared.
• 255/40R19 Summer Only Tires
>See Wheels
• Unique EPAS, ABS and stability control tuning
>Who cares, I turn it all off anyways.
• Instrument panel appliques are Aluminum
>Never really look at my dash....
• Interior gauge pack (oil pressure and boost)
>The extra A/C vent has more performance value.
• 3.55 limited-slip rear axle
>It's ~$350 for me to try 3.55's or 3.31's. Once the car is somewhat sorted that may be an option later. Not a big deal IMO.
• Larger radiator
>$400. When I start having cooling problems I'll look into it. Otherwise Ford should have shoved a better intercooler in there.
• Heavy-duty front spring (Fastback only)
>Steeda Ultralights...duh.
• Spoiler delete -
>While I would like to have a blank canvas, I kinda like the little spoiler. Besides, a new truck lid is actually really cheap and getting it painted isn't bad if you get a few things done at once.

The brakes on the base aren't too bad, I had a successful track day with just a moderate bit of fade. For what I was doing to the car, they performed admirably. That being said, my choice is the 6 piston brembo and GT rears. Worth every penny.

I was going to go the same route as you^^^^^^. But after thought and more though and driving a premium pp car I was sold and the 0% financing helped out a lot too. The brakes are night and day. The whole interior is a big plus and the car felt stiffer then my base with the strut tower, K-brace and IRS frame stiffeners from steeda on it. Now all that is on my ne prem pp car and I love it, The car feels like its on rails. I need to lower it and ill be good to go. So glad I went with the pp and don't have any regrets about it what so ever. Really worth it in my book

I've held the upsized radiator and the base radiator side by side and the PP does truly give you a decent bump in size which may be important for those running hotter tunes

Width and height are same but base is 1" deep and pp is 1.44" deep. Decent increase in ability to extract heat and overall fluid volume. Just wish they went whole hog and gave us a 2" thick double row radiator.

I like the pp and see it as good value because I am never going to be officially racing my car. I drive in a spirited, aggressive manner, and I do plan to take her to the road course a couple times a year when the track has $50 track days, usually guys who go see 50+ miles of wide open track time. But I'll never have it as a dedicated track queen, I'd buy a GT or GT350 if I wanted that.

For me, the pp brakes are out of this world, and I wish big brakes like this were available on everything. Under street driving they will never fade, and they inspire loads of confidence when I hit 140 chasing a Corvette down the freeway in "Mexico" and have to brake hard to 75 when he detects radar. On a track they might eventually fall apart, but again, not a big deal for me and I bet 90% of the guys here. At any rate the car's braking and handling limits far exceed my own driving abilities.

The stiffer suspension is for many a drawback. I'm neutral on it, I don't like how bad the ride is but I understand why it's bad and I appreciate the stiffness when I haul ass into a corner and she's planted and comes out the other end smooth and composed.

The bigger radiator is still not enough for some. Honestly I think on the stock tune you should never need to upgrade but I'm sure someone can run hard enough to need it. At the end of the day it postpones my need to upgrade, and I'll take it.

3.55 gears with LS are a plus. Not sure if the standard 3.15 is LS or not but the car with 3.55 gears likes to be in a gear where the turbo can spool if I wanna go, I wouldn't like to have to gear down even more with stock gears, fuel economy likely isn't impacted much (need less boost to maintain your cruise speed in 6th, and it runs rich in boost) and in theory I'll net slightly quicker acceleration.

The upgraded speed limiter is very nice. I'd like to know why it's limited at 146 or whatever because it pulls hard to the 140 I've done and doesn't seem too floaty or to have any cooling issues at that speed. Driveshaft gonna let go like that 2011 V6? Axle shafts? I know a tune will unlock the limiter but I wanna know why the limiter is still low. Anyways, the base 121?mph limiter is stupidly low for the power of the car. My 88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe I had before this would do 143, and GPS said she did a solid 140 before with more in her but I ran out of confidence.

Spoiler delete....I don't recall what they look like but I think factory spoilers that don't provide downforce are stupid, and they tend to increase drag anyways. So obviously I'm OK with that.

The gauge pack is nice. Wish they were angled towards the driver though as they're recessed and hard to read while driving. I'd happily take even more gauges as I am a child and I think gauges are cool. Also, love that the oil pressure gauge shows actual oil pressure rather than being wired to a switch that either reads "oil pressure" or "no oil pressure" on a phony gauge.

Wheels and tires are nice. Cleaned up they look amazing. Tires grip real well. I'm OK with summer tires because I got a set of 18" wheels and tires with 100 miles on them off a 2015 GT for $700. The all seasons have the same AA traction rating and should do decent enough in winter. My only worry is that they might be super heavy? They have a lot of meat to them and I really wish they showed off the big brakes more. :D

If you aren't hard tracking the car but drive aggressively on the street, I think the PP is a solid package. I only wish they offered a track pack with a truly beefier radiator, oil/air oil cooler, bigger intercooler, (why not have radiator go from where intercooler is all the way up, then move intercooler forward and make bigger?) Coolers for anything else that needs it, maybe GT PP brakes?...and save me the effort of spending more money upgrading more shit? I'm sure it would be just as hard to find with recaros as a PP Coupe with recaros was (my dealer said it was the only 2015 within quite a wide radius with what I wanted, and it would be easier to order a 2016 than find another 2015 like it) and not sell many but a lot of the parts would likely be off the shelf stuff from better Mustangs anyways!

100% worth it no doubt in my mind. Even if you do upgrade later on, sell off the parts to someone else and make some of your money back.

I only wish they offered a track pack with a truly beefier radiator, oil/air oil cooler, bigger intercooler...

If only there was an actual "SVO"..

That's essentially what I'm building. I/C, Oil Cooler, and eventually the PP radiator unless one comes out in the aftermarket that has tangible benefits. That, the Brembo's, and a solid tune would make the EBM a monster on the track. They had to at least give the GT a chance!

Im getting my first Mustang in October. I already ordered it and im praying to get a VIN # soon.

But I want to know, why do people tend to get the Spoiler delete? Is it because they don't want holes in their trunk if they decide to remove it? I'm a little confused. I just recently started thinking about it. When my dealer asked me If I wanted it, I obviously said yes cause it cost $0.

What he said about the pp and also if you look at the s550 from the back it just looks perfect/clean without the little tiny spoiler. It already has a nice upward curve at the end of the trunk

Cleaner look. Spoiler looks like a tacked on after thought, its only functional purpose is adding weight. ;)

I got spoiler delete because the PP came that way. Looking at pictures online the base spoiler doesn't look that good anyway. I would rather the clean look or possibly a more aggressive or functional spoiler if I was going to put holes in the trunk.
