I would've loved the PP, only issue with it for me is the summer tires. Although I probably could've swapped them out in hindsight. Oh well.

I know the top speed limiter is different between the two; something like 120 vs 140 for the PP. is that something that can be tuned?

It can be tuned. When I test drive the non performance package the first thing I noticed was that the ride was really bouncy, the performance package makes it feel much more planted. I'm sure some aftermarket springs and sways would help a lot

Thats one of the reasons why I did not go with the PP... I figure the aftermarket within a short amount of time will figure out better if not as good and just as, if not more affordable mods. I'd rather invest that money by choice later, although if you are into big brake kits the PP is a great buy.

steeda linear rate springs help a ton with the bounce and ride height. with the stiffer rear sway, no aftermarket sways are needed until probably at DOT R stickyness of tires.

top speed can be tuned out.

If I were to make any mods to the performance package, I would probably just change the struts and shocks for something stiffer. Don't really wanna lower the car. And some stickier tires.

The PP is nice, and worth it IMHO if you are not planning to mod the car.
1)I have some nice wheels off my Supra which are perfect PCD and ofset.
2)I will see if I can get a bracket made up to fit the Brembos from my Supra, if not I'm sure i'll find a nice wrecked gt in the junkyard by me, for the brakes sooner rather than later.
4)I always put adjustable shocks in my car.
5)Cobb tune gets rid of the limiter anyways.
So basically the PP would be just me throwing away 2k for stuff I'm going to change anyway pp or not. But there is no way that would come in under 2k so the PP is a bargain.
Edit: and i wanted to keep the 3.31 gears as this is my daily and the small difference in fuel economy will add up overtime.

A factory adjustable shock would have been really cool. Pretty uncommon but it would have been sweet! I always liked a stiffer ride. I was kind of doubting the PP the other day but this really sealed in my confidence with it. I have no intentions of modifying the suspension other than maybe some springs so the package is pretty good I think

I say its worth it. I honestly really wanted the performance package because of how good the wheels looked compared to the other 18s or whatever. but then i read up on how the performance pack has a larger radiator, bigger brakes, bigger sway bars, differential, spoiler delete (a plus for me because i love clean asses). All im going to be doing this car is spacers for the wheels and possible lowering springs, everything else will be performance mods as they arrive from cobb.... so far just the acessport.

Regrets? Just one...Ford should have lowered the stance a bit with the PP, really set it off from the non-PP stangs.

Unless your commute is steady speed (always in 6th gear) highway driving 80+% of the time there will not be any difference in mileage between the 3.31 and 3.55.

My commute is 50 miles round trip in a suburban environment with 7 traffic lights that 3 or 4 are hit green every day. Mileage on my PP is 33-34 mpg and if I granny drive it it's about 38-39 mpg. Approximately 1/2 my commute is spent in 4 or 5th.

Well I have to really drive it like I had an egg between my foot and the gas pedal to get those numbers. The 33-34 doesn't take effort, I don't get much of a chance to ring it out on my commute. I typically wind up at 29-31 mpg for a tank that includes some spirited driving in the evening and week ends.
