Need passenger side oil catch cans on our 5.0's too. Preventative maintenance.

That said, I just looked up the 3.5L Ecoboost catch can systems and they're all like $300-400, instead of $100 like I've spend on my 5.0's.

Get what will make you happy. I didn't and I regret it every day. I bought a base 16 GT in Magnetic, because of 0% interest, and I got a great deal at $5,200 off MSRP. But I really wanted a 2017 Lightning Blue EB Premium w PP. i secretly regret it everyday, but I can't tell my wife I want to trade it in and eat probably $10,000 loss. So now I'm stuck with it for at least 10 years.

You got 5200 off MSRP on a base GT, so you think it's only worth 18k now? I think you'll do okay on a trade if you really want the eco-boost. GT's hold their value quite well. I traded my base '14 GT with 22k miles for 24500 this year for my '16 Premium. Also got a quote for 31500 for my '16 recently when I was looking at a different car for family reasons...

You might lose a few K, but if the ecoboost is what you want, take advantage of the residual value of your GT. Easier to go that way than the other way..

You'd lose more than $10k after trading/selling the future depreciating EB once realizing you made another mistake trading down from the GT...

It would be much cheaper installing premium and PP parts into your current GT.

If you're hell bent on getting the ecoboost, rent one for a week to see the grass isn't greener at all and already own the superior stang.

Just to flaunt my ignorance, whats the purpose of the catch can? Oil or fuel leaks? Trying to educatemyself and side-step the flames. . .

To separate folks from their cash. Or oil from air. Take your pick. I lean towards the first one, but others swear by them. I would like to see a 5.0 with 200K on it ruined by not having one. I would suspect it would be a long hunt.

If you saw how much oil a catch can collects, it might change your mind.

I bought a Auto GT so I couldn't get the PP, but I've been looking into upgrading the brakes, suspension, and some other parts. You can get a track suspension kit from Ford for $1200 (which I believe is better than the stock PP one), you can buy the Brembo front brake kit for like $1300, larger radiator for like $400. I know the PP comes with some other parts, but I feel like with these mods I should have a pretty good track car. As far as the premium interior, you can buy leather, light up door sills, etc. all for fairly cheap. For like $5k you could have a really nice GT 5.0 that would do well at the track. You can also get the GT350 intake, CAI, tune, headers, exhaust and still be under $10k with a car making over 500hp.

Why?

Like I said, show me an engine that failed because it was not installed. That would change my mind.

These threads are hilarious. So many superiority complexes, insecurities, and ego trips on the internet. It's like I'm watching politics unfold right in front of my eyes.:popcorn:

I've test driven the GT and EB, and they're both great in their own respective ways. Just pick whichever one is best for you and drive happy. I picked the EB and regret nothing. It was the right Mustang for me. Just go out and find out for yourself!

The superior stang?? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You own a GT, not a GT500 or GT350, if this is some sorta food chain. :p

Okay, carry on.

It may not be superior like that but the 5.0 is def... BADASS.

The EB not so much. This is just my opinion and coming from a guy that has a V6 G35, the 5.0 is, awesome.

Honestly, I don't care if a motor is more badass or superior to any other motor. The Coyote is an amazing piece of engineering! Same with the EcoBoost motors, all of them.

Just considering what all of these motors are capable of, all the technology and brilliance and what gains can be had with basic modifications and tunes from what you start with, is awesome! Everyone seems to forget that. :ford:

But everyone has an opinion, just like everyone has a butt. :p

Coming from a guy who's had an ST, and has an air cooled 911 and a watercooled 944.
