These threads are hilarious. So many superiority complexes, insecurities, and ego trips on the internet. It's like I'm watching politics unfold right in front of my eyes.:popcorn:

I've test driven the GT and EB, and they're both great in their own respective ways. Just pick whichever one is best for you and drive happy. I picked the EB and regret nothing. It was the right Mustang for me. Just go out and find out for yourself!

The superior stang?? :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You own a GT, not a GT500 or GT350, if this is some sorta food chain. :p

Okay, carry on.
No f'ing kidding.

Hit the fan switch in the bathroom. Some of you have been in there WAY too long and think it doesn't stink anymore.

It may not be superior like that but the 5.0 is def... BADASS.
It's kind of funny you say that. I know that this is a quick car but my butt dyno has been so solidly recalibrated from years of riding high-performance bikes that the 5.0 still feels slow.

No joke, I have legitimately checked under the hood to make sure it actually did have a V8.

The two bikes I ride the most now have 150 and 185 horsepower and both weigh between 500-550 lb. For a while I had a bike that made 250 whp and weighed just over 500 lb. Everything after that just feels tame.

To separate folks from their cash. Or oil from air. Take your pick. I lean towards the first one, but others swear by them. I would like to see a 5.0 with 200K on it ruined by not having one. I would suspect it would be a long hunt.
Their is some blow by in all engines, however in many turbo charged engines (like Ford and BMW) it becomes an issue. So some higher mileage EB owners may respond, but from what I have seen online, you can expect to be in for intake valve cleaning (about 6 hours labor) every 40K-60K miles. But catch cans do certainly help.

As for me, I drove all 3 and after getting out of the GT PP I had no choice but to buy that car or pony up another $36K and. go Shelby hunting.

Pending acquisition. . . .
As I said in the original post, I'm currently driving a '16 EB Premium, so I know and appreciate the capacity of the EB, although I haven't driven an EB MT yet. Since I feel the chassis on the Mustang is heavier than most cars I've driven (BMW and corvette), I think I'm leaning towards the GT (or SS), but I totally respect the capacities of the EB too. I've been getting almost 30 mpg on So Cal freeways, and so like the spooling torque, but the growl of the V8 is classic mustang in my book :-)

I can get 26 highway (according to computer) with the 5.0 liter (and that's before my rings were seated), but for some reason I seem to average about 19.6. Something may be wrong with my accelerator, it just seems to go to the floor a little too often.
But I didn't buy a Mustang for fuel economy.

Also running on 87 Octane when on the street, so my timing is a little retarded (like the driver), about .50 a gallon difference where I am.

This thread isn't about the v6 or either Shelby.

Between the ecoboost and GT, the GT is the superior stang.

If I lived somewhere that didn't have access to premium fuels, I would probably not enjoy life with an ecoboost as much. Going E30 would be a prerequisite out there.

The Mustang really hadn't been on my radar until I started hearing about the EB, and think it would be cool to hyper-mile.

I'm encouraged to learn that most of the EB owners are looking to unload their under-powered, lame sounding four bangers, as I will have plenty of low-mile garage queens to pick and choose from...

So far have only seen one in my area for sale on CL, and the price is almost as much as buying new.

I'm no expert, but I sincerely doubt there's any issue with carbon build up on GT's.. The only reason it's an issue on the EB is because it's direct injected.. if it had port injection it would not be an issue either. Being that the 5.0 is port injected, I don't think a catch can is necessary at all.. I mean, it couldn't hurt? at least I don't think so.

In any case, I want to trade this thing in as soon as possible so carbon buildup is the least of my concern. Lol.

Get what will make you happy. I didn't and I regret it every day. I bought a base 16 GT in Magnetic, because of 0% interest, and I got a great deal at $5,200 off MSRP. But I really wanted a 2017 Lightning Blue EB Premium w PP. i secretly regret it everyday, but I can't tell my wife I want to trade it in and eat probably $10,000 loss. So now I'm stuck with it for at least 10 years.
Ok, just to make you jealous... here's my 2017 GT Premium in Lightning Blue with Performance Pack, leather Recaros & Nav.

Niceeeee!!!!

I think lighting blue is winning me over the race red  I wish Ford offer the dark saddle interior with the lighting blue.

Your car looks awesome! I don't think mustang phil would be jealous as he would apparently rather have the ecoboost with PP...

Yes the DI makes a huge difference. I wouldn't put a catch can in a Coyote. I was referring to the 2.3 EB not the 5.0, but neglected to mention the DI factor. Thanks for clarifying.
