Yaeh - the Gen 3 Coyote feels like more than 460 hp

Down shift. That's what I love about my '19 compared to my last Corvette. I didn't need to down shift in the Vette, which is less fun.As I heard many years ago but I always remembered "Torque puts the smile on you face, HP keeps it there" I just wish I didn't need to get over 4000 rpm to get the smile. Since i will never see the track with a GT I am not concerned how fast it is on a time slip or anything. I want it to feel and be "quick" all the time without having to rev it out. I'm hopeful a tune and bolt ons will give me that smile in the lower RPM's when I move into a GT.
It’s easy to get horsepower & torque confusedJust an observation, but the car just doesn't feel like it has 460hp. It just doesn't seem fast enough for the power rating. I almost wonder if they're a bit generous with the rating from the factory... Car is a 10 speed with 3.55's, I even run 94 octane.
I absolutely love the car, it just feels slower than it's rated for.
I did like the power delivery of the camaro but that was about it. I have not driven a 18 or newer GT yet either. Just a 12, 15 auto and stick and a 16 auto. I got on all of them pretty hard and certainly never felt like close to spin tires in the 2000-3500 rpm range.Down shift. That's what I love about my '19 compared to my last Corvette. 2018-19's are completely different. Drive a A10 with 3.55 gears!I did like the power delivery of the camaro but that was about it. I have not driven a 18 or newer GT yet either. Unfortunately it always felt like I needed multiple gear down shifts to get the pull I was wanting. I just want to roll on the throttle and go like the turbo cars I've owned or the bigger V8's I've driven. I think in my younger years I enjoyed the revving out and downshifting more like with my 600cc racebike. Then I got back on the street and really enjoy the big bore twist the throttle and go. I'm always wondering why I haven't had the experience of the instant low end power with tires spinning that other have mentioned in my GT test drives. I'll try a 18 soon. Plus I've never driven a tuned gt yet either.
An A10 will feel even slower (even though it may be slightly faster), due to the smooth delivery with 10 gears being like a CVT box2018-19's are completely different. Drive a A10 with 3.55 gears!
I understand your point, but put it in drag mode, and feel the shifts. Slower is not what you will feel. I got rubber on the 4-5 shift the other day, stock, and on Concrete. An A10 will feel even slower (even though it may be slightly faster), due to the smooth delivery with 10 gears being like a CVT box
As explained to me many years ago:It’s easy to get horsepower & torque confused
hahaha, its been a long time sense I have heard that.As explained to me many years ago:
Understeer - you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - how fast you are going when you hit the wall
Torque - how far you push the wall after hitting it
