As I heard many years ago but I always remembered "Torque puts the smile on you face, HP keeps it there" I just wish I didn't need to get over 4000 rpm to get the smile. Since i will never see the track with a GT I am not concerned how fast it is on a time slip or anything. I want it to feel and be "quick" all the time without having to rev it out. I'm hopeful a tune and bolt ons will give me that smile in the lower RPM's when I move into a GT.
Down shift. That's what I love about my '19 compared to my last Corvette. I didn't need to down shift in the Vette, which is less fun.

Did some straight line pulls with mine yesterday.

Feels like a nearly 500hp car to me. Maybe something is wrong with yours..?

Just an observation, but the car just doesn't feel like it has 460hp. It just doesn't seem fast enough for the power rating. I almost wonder if they're a bit generous with the rating from the factory... Car is a 10 speed with 3.55's, I even run 94 octane.

I absolutely love the car, it just feels slower than it's rated for.

I did like the power delivery of the camaro but that was about it. I have not driven a 18 or newer GT yet either. Just a 12, 15 auto and stick and a 16 auto. I got on all of them pretty hard and certainly never felt like close to spin tires in the 2000-3500 rpm range.

Unfortunately it always felt like I needed multiple gear down shifts to get the pull I was wanting. I just want to roll on the throttle and go like the turbo cars I've owned or the bigger V8's I've driven. I think in my younger years I enjoyed the revving out and downshifting more like with my 600cc racebike. Then I got back on the street and really enjoy the big bore twist the throttle and go. I'm always wondering why I haven't had the experience of the instant low end power with tires spinning that other have mentioned in my GT test drives. I'll try a 18 soon. Plus I've never driven a tuned gt yet either.

2018-19's are completely different. Drive a A10 with 3.55 gears!

My 2015 does not spin the tires easily. Even with AT off, it just goes but the power is not instant like my Hemi. Maybe it is the 265-35-20 Conti DWS06 tires. Once it revs past 4K it builds pretty quick. I have just resigned myself to the Coyote’s power delivery vs the more low end torque of pushrod motors. That being said, we really enjoy the vert Mustang. But..... to be honest, had we been able to get a convertible 392 Challenger we would have as we wanted a newer V8 convertible and my body did not fit in a Camaro, besides.... the interior is ugly.

An A10 will feel even slower (even though it may be slightly faster), due to the smooth delivery with 10 gears being like a CVT box

I understand your point, but put it in drag mode, and feel the shifts. Slower is not what you will feel. I got rubber on the 4-5 shift the other day, stock, and on Concrete.

My last "old school" hot rod was a built (did it myself) 71 Chevelle with a 406 small block, alum heads, 9.5:1 compression, .550 lift roller cam, 4.10 gears, and a 700R4 trans. The idle was so rough (but sounded incredible) you could throw your mixer away.

Driving it on the street was like killing mosquitos with a 10 pound hammer, fantastic torque and mid-range, but was out of steam just over 6K RPM. Felt really, really fast, but in reality the best 1/4 mile I ever got was around 12.7 @ 106 mph. Car had the aero-dynamics of a refrigerator and was not lite in weight.

I wish my 18GT Premium had this "street" torque, but all I have to do is wing it up to around 4K and nail it. The mid-range and top-end of the Mustang is simply amazing for a normally aspirated car, straight off the show room floor. I can hardly believe how far the 18GT has come compared to the "good ole" days.

I had a 1990 Fox with a full exhaust, full Trick Flow top end, built Z-spec T-5, full Maximum Motorsports suspension.

Car felt and drove like a rocket, only put down 325 rwhp. Handled amazingly for a fox, was set up for road racing.

It would get ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED by my current GT in every driving situation imaginable.

I think of these cars like a 600cc street bike. Fast as shit, but you have to keep the rpm's up there.

As explained to me many years ago:
Understeer - you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - how fast you are going when you hit the wall
Torque - how far you push the wall after hitting it
