Im no stranger to sports cars. I’m blessed. I have had Mopar, Corvette, Audi S, BMW M, and now the 350. The amount of morons who aggressively attempt to get my attention is light years larger in the 350.

In particular, it’s 2 classes of drivers. Dudes in lifted big tire pickup trucks, and kids in clapped out G35s and 350Z and other assorted fart can trash. Every single time I am out it seems a F150 wants to floor it next to me. Just today I had a completely trashed G35 riding on blown out struts and a straight exhaust rev his engine over and over again when I pulled up behind him at a stop light. It’s hard to miss these cars from the front. I think it’s the cars best angle.

What do these people think I’m gonna do? Ride out 2nd and 3rd gear in city traffic with a speed limit of 35 or 45? If a cop sees that, I’m going to jail. They don’t like seeing sports cars double the speed limit in high density urban areas. I know this from experience.

It’s just baffling. Either they think these cars are slow, or they think their cars are fast. Which they aren’t. If it was Hellcats or Z06s, I would get it. That’s a legitimate battle. But a 350Z with a straight pipe isn’t even worth the gas. It’s like picking on a blind kid.

People see the Cobra plaque and just immediately assume we are as dumb as they are. No other car I have had gave me this much negative attention. I need a sticker on the back or something. “No im not gonna race you in a 35mph zone.”

It always the lifted truck guys. Usually Ram owners. It's a small dick thing I guess. 🤷‍♂️
Any truck driving around with it's tow mirrors out while it's not towing something is an instant d-bag in my book.

Sorry Ice445, I honestly didn’t know it was GT350 section. Should have at least acknowledged the participants. Will stick to general forum subjects. Certainly, don’t want to be frowned upon.

It was just me joking with you, it happens to everyone all the time, lol. The "sort by new" on the main page doesn't tell you what section something is

It's just a Mustang thing it has nothing to do with it being a 350
True, I often tell people that I drive an asshole magnet.

I chased a guy down once when I was a teenage driver. He had a sweet GT500 and my $1,000 rattle trap was obviously no match but I just wanted to look at his car and maybe hear it rev. I pulled next to him at a light and revved at him a bunch and waved. He was with his young son and I saw him say something to the lad before launching so hard I never saw him again. It was all my young mind wanted, to see and hear that car I could never afford do things my pos car could never do.

Well, first I want to acknowledge that I know this is a GT350 thread meant for GT350 owners... But, since I am a Mach 1 owner, and my Mach 1 comes equipped with GT350 parts straight from the factory (cue "parts bin" comments in 3-2-1...), I opine that "technically," there is a nexus, and I get a one-day courtesy posting pass on a GT350 thread 😁

Ok, all kidding aside, I am chiming in because I think this is a relevant topic that we all deal with. I think there are several categories of people who can't help but focus their attention on these Mustang cars.

First, yep, the obnoxious oversized trucks. Riding Mustang owners bumpers, cutting in front knowing they are spitting rocks and hoping to crack a windshield. They are the "I'll show him who's got the bigger p- crowd" but then they sit to go pee, so, whatever.

Then there is the jealous type who can't help but be pissy because they don't have a nice Mustang and don't want to put in the work to earn one.

Followed by the all-around angry guy. He leaves the house angry. He leaves work angry. He leaves church angry. He leaves the Tesla dealership angry because his wife made him buy a Tesla instead of a V8 Mustang. Then he encounters a nice Mustang making all kinds of that distinctive V8 noise that he wants so bad himself and so he does what comes naturally; gets angry towards the Mustang driver.

Oh, and then there is the loud and obnoxious Charger drivers, or as I like to call them, "couch cars," because every time I see a Charger I think of a big old heavy over-stuffed couch riding down the road. Anyway, Charger drivers are a hoot because they think being fast is ripping down the road in a straight line but forget that Mustangs are fast in a straight line AND in the curves too. If you ask me, Chargers should come with a tow hook on all for sides because, well, when they end up in a ditch it will be easier to get 'em out.

Finally, the modified and lowered Hondas/Toyotas/Nissan sedans whose drivers are absolutely convinced their cars are faster than the high performance Mustangs. In their minds, their farty sounding exhaust combined with the sparking undercarriage from bottoming out can propel a Honda to a subsonic speed or, dare I say, they feel their car can reach Mach 1......

I've attempted to use bit of humor to share a few observations. Because, quite frankly, I have dealt with all kinds of morons who just love to mess with me given my car. So, I rely on a little humor, a lot of situational awareness, some defensive driving, some courtesy, and try not to drive like a moron myself. I save it for when I am able to safely enjoy my car away from others.

So, drive safe y'all, and enjoy these Mustangs that we all are so darned fortunate to own!

I’d hesitate to assume they are trying to be a pita. Like the guy a few posts up mentioned, some people want to see/hear the car take off. Not racing. When I see a sick car on the road, I almost always love hearing it.

We'll see who needs to recharge/refuel first.

(unless I'm in the Viper, in which case, I'll likely need gas long before she needs electrons :cwl:
Hmm 7 MPG or Dead battery with extreme use....who's empty first?

I just sold my 77 cherokee chief on fb. The kid called asked if the truck was such and suches. ( me). I said yes, he then said he used to go wheeling with me and his dad in it 30 years ago . Ends up being my friends kid that wants go wheeling with his kid.
Inspiring the next generation of off-roaders. I sold it cheap to him.
You're a good man

I live in the most densely populated county in Florida and have my entire life. I have had everything from teslas to punch buggies try to make a run. Over the years the most common offender seems to be a scat pack owners or lifted shit box trucks, not the nicer ones.
It's pretty funny now days because of all the cars they've made in the past few years. Prior to say, 2015ish? You would rarely get anyone that bothered you. If you did, it would always be a 350/370Z owner.
