It’s not like that. I’m 6’ and had no issues seeing out of the three 6th gen Camaros I had. In 2019 they added the rear view camera. And that completely cleared the rear view problem. Front is fine unless you’re a dwarf or a Sasquatch. Anyone between 5’5 and 6’3 should be totally fine. That outward visibility myth was so overblown by the reviewer mags.
I strongly disagree in the couple of times I rented them. Coupe and convertible.
Interior and exterior were just not for me.
And I couldn’t believe I was sitting in a supercharged car for $60k and still wasn’t interested in this very impractical car. Need to fold the seats for golf clubs, wtf

I’m 6’1” and I was adamant that I was getting a Camaro before I got my first Mustang back in 2020. I drove 4 Camaros, couldn’t see shit out of any of them. Drove a 2015, 2017 and two new 2020’s. Door sills are way too high. Front and rear windshields seem like half the size of the Mustang. The performance is there and the chassis and suspension stock are better than the Mustang stock. But visibility is a real problem, so much so that I didn’t buy one because of it. And I was a GM guy for 20 years up to that point. So no, the visibility issue is not overblown, its a problem that GM never rectified

The coupes non 1LE fold down. The vert and the ZL1 1LE don’t fold down.

I agree. I drove a 1LE SS at COTA track event for 2 days after driving it for the first time the day before and didn't have any issues at 5'8". My friend who owned the car is 6'5". Wasn't any worse than a C5-C8 Corvette or the new Supra, for that matter.

It seems as if we've sidetracked the thread a little bit. Back to talking about A10's! 😅

I learned that whenever I’m messing around always be in S. So when I wanna drive normal it seems to drive pretty normal in standard. When I go to S it shifts hard or is lazy or has no idea how to shift normal cause of all the WOT pulls or messing around. After a while it does go back to normal but these transmissions develop habits quickly when you’re messing around and driving hard. Then when you wanna baby it it doesn’t know what to do.

Now that this thread has me thinking about it, I'm curious if anyone experiences similar oddness with their A10 that I get with mine in my '19 F150....

When it's cold (upon startup) and in normal mode, during the first attempt to shift from 1st to 3rd it acts like it goes into neutral for a second before upshifting harshly. After that it behaves normally, at least what's normal for this transmission, then gets better as it warms.

The downshifting of this trans irritates me too, since it actually sort of affects braking because it's harsh and abrupt. It's like you have to learn how to drive it after driving other vehicles.

I'd be interested in learning how to wipe the thing's brain if there's a simple way to do it.

The adaptive learning reminds me of the drink machines in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

All of that can be changed in the tune. It’s rare for tuners to really get deep into it though since it’s very complicated and honestly every person is different and might want a different shifting experience.

My 18 F150 A10 is always smooth, cold or hot. My downshifting is not harsh or abrupt.

Interesting. Mine is great fully warmed, but terrible cold.

Just wondering if anyone has a super smooth a10? Mine is pretty smooth in S but still doesn’t feel super smooth. Has some aggressive shifts that are not like silk for sure.
I understand the potential fixes including trans fluid, resets etc but mine does not seem as bad as others.

Just wondering if anyone has a super smooth A10 or is the nature of the beast simply not smooth even at its best?
Mine shifts smooth and crisp in normal mode. In sport or sport plus its shifts hard and a little more erratic. This is Roushs shift strategy.

Initially mine was erratic as hell. Hard shifts one minute, and then felt like it was excessively slipping the next. Now that its got 2500 miles on it the transmission seems to have figured things out. It's not perfectly smooth, but its night and day different to the point my girlfriend even mentioned it yesterday. Said the car terrified her before because of the poor drivability, but its now almost as smooth as her civic.

Mine was very bad before I got a tune. Upshifting was fine in Normal and Sport modes from the beginning - no complaints about that. But the downshifts were horrendous. It felt like someone was rear ending me - they were that harsh.

After MANY warranty visits they added some fluid and swapped out some parts. There was an improving but still awful downshifts. The transmission had no idea what gear to be in. It would always pick the wrong one.

Eventually I got the FP Tune and things have been much better. A smoother downshift and it no longer hunts for the right gear. Its much better now.

Ford, really messed up the stock tuning on the 10R80 if you ask me. I have not felt a smooth stock 10R80 yet.

Mine is smooth in Normal and Track modes, and harsher but not unbearable in Sports mode. I created a custom setting with Track mode and Sports exhaust so I could enjoy the more spirited throttle without deafening myself. But mostly I drive in Sports+ mode and just accept that it won't be perfectly smooth.

I had a 2019 F-150 Raptor with the A10... Loved it and had no problems. I'd still have it but the dealership gave me all my money back for it in June of 21 because they needed one and you couldn't get one anywhere. I drove it 25 months and 26K miles.

I had a 2020 Mustang GT Premium and had the 10spd in it too and loved it with no problems until a whitetail deer totaled it with 20k miles on it.

I now have a 2022 GT California Special with the automatic as well and 14k miles on it and I love it too and love the transmission.

Yes... All three had the 10 speed transmission and sometimes it shifted a little rough but for Pete's sake these are performance vehicles guys.... If it feels a too rough to you sell it and get something smoother that suits you better.

Me? I love my Mustangs and 4wd pickups and I like 'em because they're strong and fast and capable and they suit my personality and character.

Nuff said....
