Dollar store dog leash, self tapping screw, washer.
doulos4, I love this, but I wasn't a fan of drilling the trunk. so I took your awesome idea and modified it slightly (hope you don't mind)
IMAG0765.jpg
I removed my trunk panel and popped this wire clip,
IMAG0768.jpg
took a 12mm bolt and put it through the leash and tightened it down.
IMAG0769.jpg
I cut a small hole in the panel and pushed the leash through.
IMAG0771.jpg
this is the final result. :headbang:

^looking good! You'll find there's a bit of an art to using it. I've learned to pull it down about two-thirds of the way. This overcomes the resistance of the trunk struts, then all it takes is a short snap of the wrist.

you don't have a picture of the before? Is there already a hole where you mounted it? how hard was taking the liner out/putting it back in.

i am sorry, I didn't see the reply. yes it is where the push clip goes to hold the wire. I have a clip tool from harbor freight so taking the clips out are no problem

Wow that's terrible; hopefully a ding remover guy can push it back out, but what a pain! We'll all need to be careful pressing the trunk shut.

Or if you want a fancier ($34.99) leather pull that has a little more heft, a grommet, and shape to it (I have the red leather one on my little Fiat's hatch):
I had a '13 Abarth, and also had replaced the pull strap. In fact I am sure I have the stock one laying in my garage somewhere to use for this.

On my Abarth I used one of these in place of the strap:

I like the idea of the strap. I'm not a fan of the Accord one, seems like too much effort to pull hard enough to make sure it closes all the way while not hard enough you can get your hand out in time. I miss the handle set into the edge of the trunk lid on my S4.

Does anyone know what bolt thread size I need to use the stock holes used to hold up the wires in the trunk?
