I did not like any of the aftermarket grills that were out. Nothing really had the thickness and depth that the original grill has. Also I liked the honeycomb design the best.

Being able to keep the grill original, stock looking, just without the pony and would still match with the lower was a plus as well..

It is a tedious job, not something you can do in just a day or two, but well worth it in my opinion.

I purchased two grills to work with so I could leave my original on until I was ready to swap it out.

What did you use to paint it when you were done? I'd like to find a really durable black so it lasts>

Was awhile ago, I don't remember the brand, I used a flat black spray paint for painting outdoor plastic furniture.

Looks great, FlaGrey. Would love to see more pics. Especially showing the whole car.

Here's one. I had forgotten about the thread. Walked out into the garage and saw the sun beam lighting up the grill and was like oh yea.

I know this is an old tread but I'm wanting a OEM grille with the pony deleted and can't find one I can purchase. So I'd like to try modifying my grill like JayTea did.

Does anyone have a piece of the honeycomb mesh from a grill delete they could part with?

Thanks so much!

I found this one on eBay. Ordered but haven’t received yet.

That's an interesting grille. It looks close to the grille egg crate so would work with the stock lower. I'm interested in seeing a picture when you get it.

I purchased that grille from Ikon Motorsports in the matte finish to go better with the splitter plastic. Might be able to install it this weekend.

I'd like to see pictures also. Especially a side by side comparison before the new grille is installed.

Seems I'll have a second new Ikon Bullitt style matte finish grille arriving tomorrow. The 1st one was thought to be lost in shipping but showed up. If anyone would like to purchase it at a slight discount........
