From Tricia (Ford Service):

That doesn't clear anything up... it sounds like standard Marketing Double Talk and Doesn't Explain These, or Several Other Cars We have Seen with Fanged Upper Grills and the Lined Lower Grill with the Blanked Out Smooth Ends.

This Isn't a North Vs. South Florida thing though.Like I said when I see Proif that I'm Wrong I'll Admit It.

I thought the response was pretty clear...now whether or not it is accurate, who knows? The only explanation I had is my previous post...in that those were the only lower grills available at the time those cars were built...or perhaps they were only testing ACC on that lower grill first...not sure, but just a guess. I'm still going to keep an eye out for production units and see for sure!

Here is the parts picture of adaptive cruise control, doesn't really show the grill very well but it shows all the parts related to it.

I read all of it all we have is speculation on preproduction cars, I thought maybe by now we would have absolute confirmation on what it looks like.

But it is either the same as every other GT, EB or V6 grill. Or it is that slotted lower grill. That will tell you what it looks like. And i've already offered up an under $80 solution if it's not to your liking.

There is no adaptive cruise control grill. It doesn't change the look in any way from what it would without it.

If you get the 50th package, you get the alternate upper AND lower grill, just like the LE has.

Yeah, this is the one thing I'm not crazy about on my order. I wanted the 50th pack for some of the stuff, but I much prefer the fanged grill. I may have to order the regular grill too and save the chrome corral grill for years later when it's time to trade/sell.

If ACC doesn't change the lower grills than what does? ACC is the only thing that makes sense why the lower grills change.

Here's video from the production line of a GT with the upper fang grill and the fangless (50th appearance) lower grill:

At 4:26 look at the GT on the production line rolling by behind Joe Hinrichs. That GT has a upper fanged grill and the fangless 50th lower grill. It's one thing to explain away the different grills on pre-production vehicles. It's another thing entirely if they're showing up this way on production vehicles.

Despite what Tricia said I'm a firm believer that ACC will alter your lower grill. Some people won't care about the whole appearance thing but I personally do.

Thank You Pakman, this is Exactly what I have been saying since I started this thread. Some people just don't want to believe it. I'm still standing by my Theory, and the video you posted just adds fuel to the fire. I never once thought the excuse that the difference was due to Pre Production, other than the fact that those cars were Pre Production Units with Adaptive Cruise Control. I even went as far as pointing out the LED Warning Strip in the Dash on one of the GT's with the Mismatched Grills, but again it was brushed off as just being Pre Production. Even Tricia has replied She doesn't know how to explain the difference, because of the information Ford has given her.

Also for those in the Camp who believe the Different Lower Grill is a Difference between Base and Premium GT's notice that that car also has the Two Tone Black Diffuser ...
