That should have happened at the Mustang plant first.

Lightning starts at 60k plus most with a 80k plus sticker.
The mustang starts at 27k .
If they move the stang to a 50k starting price I can see them bothering, but it is a cheap starting price car and a low volume car that is on death row.
The lightning the equipment can also be used on the high volume f-150 so it makes sense to spend on this there.

I guess the fact that Mustang is such an iconic car didn’t have any influence whatsoever on that decision, which unfortunately reflects poorly for Ford and it’s interest in its most loyal fans.
except the decades of "most loyal fans" has proven to Ford that Mustang buyers don't care about fit and finish. Or for that matter good handling. S550 is a WILD departure from the norm.

the utility and effectiveness of a cattle prod in focusing the mind and improving worker output and attention to detail, is really quite underrated and underutilized.

I'll dress up in my StormTrooper outfit and gladly wield the Stick of Motivation at the various stations.

Ford is a business. A ice pony car is a low volume seller. With 1/3 to 1/2 of production going to fleet , rental sales and the lower cost turbo model .
Ford only cares about the truck this was high lighted when they could not be bothered filling customer orders for the car but pumped out f trucks that sat on race tracks because they were missing parts.
Like it or not Fords bread and butter is trucks,suv's. The pony car is a side show.

Not as bad as sideshow Bob but only thing that keep it going is everyone else has closed up shop. The only game in town sales boost in 2024 should be interesting if it happens or buyers move to used units of the other brands before the confused ford pony car that wants to be a tesla going by the 2024s interior .
