Yeah, I'm done. the only reason I jumped in was the silly bit about the honeycomb grills having nooks and crannies that trap the radar waves. I couldn't help myself. lol

In TampaBear's defense -I wouldn't use the fact that build and price does not change the lower grill as confirmation of anything. Try building a Fusion on their build and price and add ACC. It doesn't change the lower grill in the build and price image while it does in the final product.

if I'm not mistaken isn't the lower grill for a fusion just pieces of plastic in lines and has open gaps in between maybe they plastic cap for ACC is to protect the sensor from rocks and random road debris:shrug:

Two different cars... honestly you can't compare the two and assume they will be the same... it is or isn't whatever the outcome as how they build each car... not every car goes through a "DNA" swap like that... Ford does have mustang more distinct than their other cars

It's been dealt with and the thread has been cleaned up.

Going forward, please flag posts like this. It has absolutely no place in this forum.

From Tricia (Ford Service):

Here is the additional info that I was able to find out:
If the customer orders a GT (without the anniversary package) it will always have the same lower grille -- regardless of the ACC option. The Anniversary package will always get a different lower grille that’s the standard on the GT’s -- regardless of the ACC option.

I agree...this note gives me more confidence though...and my theory that they had mix-match grills in prototypes because the 50th/V6 lower grill was more readily available (maybe an existing part?) may hold true after all!
