I'll be honest with you; I still don't botice the difference unless it's specifically pointed out. Black plastic is black plastic, and it all looks the same, whether it's in "fangs" or horizontal bars. If the fangs were body colored, that'd be a different story.
I also care a lot less about it than I initially did, but still, it does taint the design that continues from the top grille.

I'm just confused why it was stated that the ACC wouldn't affect the look in any way as it would be hidden behind the bumper. But I forgive her for the honest mistake. ;)
Agreed. It is good to have a more direct contact, and people can make mistakes no matter who or where they are and what they do.

Well luckily the ACC is optional, so people who can't get over the asthetics can choose not to order it. Personally I think Ford did a great job hiding the sensor in the lower grill by keeping the design symmetrical. Much better than the uneven sore thumb design that for example Volvo applies.

I fear it might be standard for Australia in 2016. We apparently are getting PP standard so there won't be many options. This is probably one of the smallest blemishes on the appearance considering the mirrors and tail-lights we might be dealing with though lol.

I agree with you. I think the whole 'lower fangs' thing has gotten blown a bit out of proportion. I have a feeling when most people see the cars in person, they will realize that the differences in the lower grill are hardly noticeable and not worth all of the fuss. There are just so many more interesting aspects of the car for the eyes to be drawn to other than down there.
I think people are having an aneurysm as well.... I like the fanged grille for the gt but really not much an issue to me but I still say the lower grille is model specific not necessarily because of the blocked ends... that is all plastic anyways and even the fanged ones have the blocks on either side but the honeycomb pattern is complete throughout. Put it this way, look at the LE... it has it and the LE does not have acc...lol

I thought the LE had ACC as well. Does the picture of the grill suggest it does?

No ACC
No Rain Sense Wipers
No backup sensors
Your are right just reviewed the Order Guide again . . . . You were right. O well , still committed. I see you are as well with Kona Blue.

I'm still sallying forth too. But the closer the date comes, the more livid I become that Ford is passing off as little as it can get away with rather than even merely fully equipping the vehicles with existing options most people would value.

I actually have two LE deals done. And though I'll absolutely keep at least one, I'm seriously considering letting go of the second in favor of a fully-optioned GT Premium with the 50th Apperance Package so alongside the car I want to own I also can have the car I want to drive.

This aspect truly disappoints.

Yes sir well worth not having those three pretty useless features

Since Ford is charging a price premium for a less well-equipped product and absolutely no legitimate reason for excluding them exists, absolutely. That doesn't even consider the usefulness or convenience of the features themselves which Ford and its customers obviously find enough value in having often enough to go through the trouble of integrating and otherwise being able to command a substantial premium to obtain notwithstanding that rain detect wipers, adaptive cruise and reverse sensors are both safety AND convenience features or your own indifferences to them.

It'd have been a different matter if Ford otherwise made them available even as additional cost options but it didn't. I'm even more irked as a shareholder than a customer over how Ford is needlessly shortchanging what it's purporting to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of its most iconic and second-most popular product by volume. It reflects poorly upon how Ford considers both products and customers.

But if you're going approach it from the perspective of things the car doesn't need, I'm surprised you're not advocating a laundry list of further options Ford included but probably could've gotten away with omitting. I'm not sure what kind of commemorative product would result but, if you're gonna pursue mediocrity, there's little sense in being half-assed about it.

I otherwise know better than to debate the supposed uselessness of things with any kind of resident expert.

There's totally a reason for excluding them -- both the rear sensors and the ACC sensor interrupt the aesthetics of the car. Those spot-sensors on the rear bumpers of cars look chinzy, and although Ford has done a comparatively good job of hiding the ACC sensor in the lower grille, they obviously wanted to maintain the purer look they'd designed with the proper lower grille for the LE.

From everything we've all seen, though not 100% confirmed, all cars that have ACC get the same lower grill as the LE...so there would be no difference in visual aesthetics...

And this is exactly the reason why the lower grill is so confusing. If it's hiding the ACC sensor, then why is it on the LE.

I guess it could be seen as a more traditional lower grill treatment and thus they went with that one regardless of the actual need to use it.
