I live around 5k feet and in AZ, so all we get is 91 octane. Car is Lund tuned for 91-93 so in theory, I should be good.

However, I do drive the car down to the Phoenix area (1200' elevation) so I like to run some octane booster as a safety net. It seems like every brand has a booster but the majority of them don't list any specifics, how many point increase with X amount of gallons, etc.

A sure fire way for me to determine effectiveness of various boosters is to log things but as a general question to the group, do basic octane boosters really do anything or just a waste of $5?

I was using 2 oz of Boostane per AZ 91 gas fill up on my prior set up; Lund 93 tune with Edlebrock Stage 2. Do a quick search of Boostane and you should find the mix ratios you need. I found it to be pain in the arse.

Torco and Boostane are both great products. We've used both of them over the years on several project cars with awesome results. All tuned by Lund Racing.

For our most recent project vehicles we've been using Boostane professional.

The case of 6 cans works really well. You can keep a can in the car for whenever you need it. This stuff is the real deal.

Thanks for the note Lethal Performance since folks who track their cars are often looking for a quality booster since many tracks do not have fuel on site and stations near said tracks often only has 91 Octane. Pretty common knowledge from Ford Literature and their Trackrat Engineers that 93 Octane is preferable for peak power and track use.
Say hello to Shane, he took great care of me yesterday on an order for a product I could only find at your place!

Boostane Professional works great for daily use. Just add 2 to 3 ounces per tank and your golden. I ran that in every tank of gas on a previous car for 16,000 miles with zero issues. Buy the 5 gallon pail if you plan to run it all the time it’s a great value.

I do the same thing as the guy above 3-4 ounce of Boostane in a tank brings 93 up to about 96 I think. I just use it as a safe guard in case I get a bad tank of gass. Based off the logs, the car does add a few more degrees of timing with the Boostane.

Boostane Professional for the past 6K boosted miles. Ran it for about 4K before boost.

Never a CEL, no issues whatsoever.

I run 8 oz. each time I fill up with 93 pump octane. I have seen 17 degrees of timing.

Car runs like a scalded Coyote.

Boostane for 3 years now and hundreds of passes. I only use it when I go to the track, run regular 91 all other times.

I also did 1700 miles on RMRW last year, in 100+ degree heat at track time every day.

Car has never missed a beat. I run yearly compression tests, as well as cut my oil filters every oil change, so far nothing abnormal. Stuff seems to work. Logs show no KR at all, usually the KR system is actually adding timing so the rated Octane they claim while using it seems to be the read deal.

15k+ miles boosted now, car is really only used for racing and race week, just sits around otherwise, so that's a lot of miles of boost. I run the supplied Whipple tune as well, at 9-10psi at my altitude
