Mixing octane Boosters?

Hey Guys, I put a shot of Boostane in every tank for piece of mind when daily driving. if my drag strip ever opens, I was going to add some VP Octanium and run my race tune. Ok to mix?

Why not just use a higher ratio of Boostane to get your desired octane. I wouldn't mix boosters.

Cause I'm lazy lol. I have to order Boostane pro, and VP is available locally.
Also just for clarity, when I say a shot of boostane, I mean the actual shots they sell.

I would not mix the additives. Just run a higher mix of Boostane or put some real higher octane fuel in there.

I'm not using boostane professional. I'd have to order it.

Even with Boostane Premium it works. I ran the Boostane Premium for my 100 octane tune for awhile which was 1 can(16oz) to a full tank of 93. The Professional is more economical and can give even higher octane.

I looked for a mixing chart for the VP Octanium, couldn't find one. How are you supposed to achieve a desired octane level with it? At least with other boosters, you can add a given quantity of booster to each gallon of fuel to achieve a desired octane level. Unless your goal is 99/101 octane every time you fill up, it seems to be a waste of money.

The octane ratings they show are RON only. For FI MON is the number you want to know.

If you really wanna supercharge your MMT octane booster add a few ounces of KLOTZ.

I tried your method utilizing the Boostane mixing chart for their Premium product, it didn't work.

Example with 91 octane fuel to get 92, just add .04oz per gallon. To get 93 using your method, you'd have to add .08 oz per gallon, mixing chart says .18 oz per gallon. It's not a straight forward ratio.

If Boostane really works as advertised, to get 8 octane points using their premium, the ratio is 1.49 oz : gallon

Boostane is probably the most effective "booster" that being said, I wouldn't go exactly by their chart. I would go higher on the ratios. Closer to 2oz per gallon for 100 octane.

If you're trying to be cost effective, order the 6 packs of 32oz professional cans. Or the 5 gallon pale. Boostane runs sales from time to time. Sometimes it's cheaper on Amazon.

I fill up with 92 and add a boostane shot in every tank. So probably around 94/95 octane. The boostane pro or vp octanium would be to raise the octane to 100 at the strip, Ideally with about half a tank of gas. Sounds like the safest thing to do is just order a couple of cans of boostane pro.

Klotz is a more effective octane booster ... It uses N-Metyleaniline which can net twice the effective octane raise over MMT.

It's not as widely used as an octane booster these days ... 10+yrs back there were several offerings using it now only a couple.

It's used as an industrial solvent which also makes it a very effective paint stripper so you need to be careful not to spill it on paint and clean it off quick if you do.

Do you have tech articles or data supporting Klotz being twice as effective as MMT products?

Lucas octane booster is easy to get And reasonably priced per bottle. My car gets some every tank full. It works. But VP c-10 unleaded fuel really makes the difference at the track...
