The 35 offset was discussed/mentioned here towards the beginning of the thread as there were some inaccuracies but also, with the different widths available, XXR changed their offsets accordingly. So a 9" width will have a lesser offset than the 10.5 I have. No issues with shock clearance on...

I ran it nearly for 4 years with 305/30 as a 27.2" tall tire. But the outer edge of my tires were worn as the offset pushed it too far outside and would rub the fender when I found a dip/bump in the road. Currently waiting on a new set of wheels to arrive and not have to worry about that...

The 285/35 should be fine, especially with your +35 offset. The XXR wheels have a +30 offset, so you get a little more grace but the 285/40 would be a dang tall tire on a 20" wheel... I'm guessing the computer wouldn't like that so much and could potentially cause your tcs and adv Trac to engage...

You running a 305 or something bigger? How low are you in the front? Already purchased the Apex +25mm spacers and the wheel liners aren't a big priority/issue. Wait, you running fender or wheel liner?

Certainly not opposed to going with a 28 and an extra 3mm shouldn't make much of a difference, but going with a 50 offset, was hoping to keep it as tight as possible. Car is primarily a weekend toy, have yet to see a track or formal event.
