with these modern engines, as long as you maintain them, the don't wear out for the most part.
100%, which makes me think some owners don't know how to maintain them properly or lie about maintaining them. Granted it did live a bit longer than I expected, but got my money's worth regardless!

Damn. Probably woulda hit 250k easily without the FI?
I feel like it would've hit 200k if I went back to the 10psi pulley instead of getting greedy and leaving the 15psi pulley on lol but 250k N/A was not out of the realm of possibility. I'm sure there's 250k + mile 5.0s out there currently.

Fwiw the aluminators are pretty expensive compared to just throwing in another normal shortblock, and even the normal gen3 blocks seem pretty great. OTOH they do have nice parts and you can get one with lower compression (for boost).

(I’ve been looking at a lot of options for my own rebuild)

Sleeved block with some decent rods, and let’er eat!

you seem to have a potent combo, don’t mess with it too much 😉

So damage report, the rod absolutely disintegrated lol good news is that the head is okay! Just need a built short block, rebuilt heads and we’re golden!

That is the perfect balance of keeping the damage limited to one component and sending that shortblock with extreme authority! Well played sir!

Plus I freshened up the heads, PAC springs, port and polished the exhaust side for another $2700

New Crank and block another $2400.

Doing it that way I was over $10k with the machining cost on the block assembly. The Aluminator with a lower compression ratio would be the way I would go if I had to do it all again.
