Thank you all for this information and wow. Never knew it was more deep than that. Honestly thought I was able to do a square setup with the original wheels the 2020 mustang Gt premium pp1 came with.
You can go square with new rims, replace front studs and run a approximately 30 mm spacer. That's what a lot of folks have done.

The factory rear wheels are 1/2" wider than the fronts, and the front/rear offsets are also different. The rears can be mounted up front if you use spacers, but then you'd have skinnier wheels in back. Probably not the best setup from a handling perspective.
SVE (LMR) sells many styles in 19x10 with the proper offset for a squared setup, and each wheel is about 10 pounds lighter than the factory wheels, which makes the car feel noticeably spunkier.

As others have said, there's no point to going square unless you also change the wheels. For me, 19x10 wheels (+35 offset) with 275/40 tires is ideal. My car is also PP1 w/ magneride, and the 275/40 is the stock rear tire size. 285/35 has a smaller diameter, so unless you're also lowering the car you'll have a larger gap between the tire and wheel opening, and the 40 profile also gives you a more comfortable ride than a 30 or 35. FWIW - I like spirited driving on mountain and canyon roads, and this wheel & tire combo works very well. Of course, the right (or wrong) tires are very important if handling is a priority.
Alright it’s official, I’ll go with this setup. Time to look at new rims.

275/40/19 with 19x10 (+35 offset)

Do these make a difference? 275/40ZR19/XL or 275/40ZR19

Also, am I going to need spacers and new studs?

This will fit fine with no other mods. I ran 19x10 ET40 square and 285/35R19 with no other mods for some time before I did my suspension.

Do you have any pics of the 285’s fender gaps before suspension upgrades?
Now I’m starting to get worried as this was my plan this summer

no spacers needed, they should fit perfectly. I run 285/35/19 square on my daily driver

It's too cold to bring the car out today, but the fitment is absolutely perfect after the suspension has settled.

275/40R19 will fill the wheel well out just a bit better if you have no intention of doing any suspension mods (famous last words lol).

You do have some gapage going there.. did you notice difference when you put them on?
Im in a Mach 1 so may be a little different.
I remember more gap in my 15gt

Are you lowered?
The car you quoted is lowered, he has BMR SP083R in his sig. That's roughly a 7/8" drop front and 3/4" drop rear.

Considering I came from the base 235/50R18 tire setup, yes the difference was hilarious.

Someone with more knowledge of the Mach 1 may have to help me out, but the PP1/PP2 are not actually lowered suspension-wise compared to a base GT. The PP2 is 10mm lower due to the tires. GT350 springs are 10mm lower.

yes I am. I ran the same wheels/tires on 2 different suspension setups

1) FP Track shocks and springs - 1" lower all around
2) FP Track shocks with BMR SP083R springs (current combo) 0.875" lower at front and 0.75" at the back I believe

I thought the Magride lowers the Mach a little more than a GT (may also hold true for Magride GT’s vs non-Magride) but it may also just be tire size. If the Magride does, it’s not much maybe a 1/4” or so?

275/40 will fill the gaps a bit more and depending on how aggressive you get with springs, should still have no clearance issues.

Or, you could go the 20” wheel route as well. I’m on stock suspension (non-Magride) and run 20x10 with 285/35r20 tires in summer. Fills the gaps pretty well IMO.

Lots of options though if you’re looking to close up the wheel gap. A 1/2” to 1” drop spring on 285/35r19 will do the job nicely

285/35R19 with 0.5-1" drop really is the bees knees.

I think for stock 275/40R19 is really gonna fill it out better.
