This is why I asked in the first place, haha. Half the people are saying is an actual thing, the other half are saying is simply the normal thing that occurs when the gears bite. Any searches on the forum turned up the same results.

Thanks for the responses, though! I appreciate your help.

I guess we just need to leave it at: It works. Whether this is an intended feature or not seems to be quite the controversy.

There is no such thing as dumb questions....just dumb ass answers! This Forum is here for a good reason. If you already know everything.... go wash your car or something?

I love the hill assist feature. Frisco should be mandatory for that one!! Enjoy the ride!

No there is actually a designed feature that applies appropriate throttle when letting out on the clutch to keep the car from stalling.
It may be designed into the ECM, but you certainly can stall it by not being smooth on the clutch.

Yea if you drop the clutch. But I can assure you its a designed feature of the 2015+ mustangs. If you let out on the clutch of a 2014 GT with no throttle it WILL die.

Come to think of it I did stall the 2014 a couple of times on a test drive. I don't think I have killed my 2015 that many times since Feb.

I think asking what color to pick should qualify as a dumb question though...just sayin.

Or someone on the fence about a color like I was, needed to see some real pics to sway me and I'm glad I asked

I figured I'd bump this thread instead of starting a new one. Whether creep assist is in the manual or it's just how the car behaves, I have to crawl through traffic 2-3 days a week so being able to let off the clutch and not have to play the clutch/brake/gas/brake/clutch game is going to be a wonderful thing. But to follow-up...

1. Seems like you have to let off the clutch slowly and maybe not completely in order to "creep"...and letting off all the way or too quickly will still result in a stall. Is this correct?

2. Is there a limit to how long you can creep? If it's bumper to bumper for 15 miles, do I have to hit the gas and let off the clutch at some point in order to recharge (to give it a name) the creeping or will it let me brake and creep indefinitely just like an automatic?

3. Does creeping without cutting off power at the clutch and for extended periods of time do anything to piss off the ECU or harm the engine at all? Not sure how that would be the case but just curious.

Thanks!

You just let off the clutch slowly and completely off and boom, it runs like an automatic with no harm.

I am going to say no. Simply because there is no "documentation" from FORD this was done.

Feature = benefits = more $$$

If FORD spend design and engineering cycles on a new feature, it would be at minimum in the manual. That is the only way the bean counters get return on investment.

I am in the camp that says, it is a manual V8. That is just what they do. Heck, my 82 GT with a 4 speed could start with zero throttle input in 1st and 2nd easy.

And then just tap the gas or apply the brakes for however many miles of stop and go and the clutch gets left out of the equation?

If so, that's amazing!!!

Thanks

Seriously? People have to ask this question? If I could letting out clutch without stalling the engine on an RX-8 rotary with no torque, you guys can do it easily on a powerful V8.
