Crazy install price

I am interested in getting a MGW shifter installed and I was quoted $1700 with my shifter!
Does anyone know of a good place in the Houston area that is more sane?

If you have a couple jackstands, some basic tools and a couple hours it’s actually pretty straightforward. I did mine in the underground parking garage (6 floors down) in downtown Sandy Eggo not long ago

On a serious note aren’t shifter installs a trans out thing on these cars? I’d get your bang for the buck and do a fresh clutch/flywheel if you’re doing all that.

if they were, then yes…but these are done without trans removal

If I were you, I’d install some Steeda Jacking Rails and put the car on jack stands to tackle this job yourself. No need to pay $1200 in labor to anyone for this. This will also give you a chance to learn your way around your Bullitt.

Go to Harbor Freight

Buy a nice jack. Set of jack stands. Jack pucks. Master set of 3/8 sockets and wrenches and ratcheting wrenches. 1/2, 3/4 and 1/4 cordless impact wrenches. Master set of 1/2" impact sockets.

You'll have money left over for a case of beer and to take your wife out to a nice dinner.

You won't use it all this time but you'll use it all eventually.

Go to HPC. "High performance connection". They've done work for me, and it's always been professional, and they've done a great job.

I would say shop around. I paid $250 to have mine installed. It took the shop a couple of hours, while I waited.
