Oh crap. Whats the plan Stan? I'd want an enclosed transport to pick up my car and have it sent back to Penske.
Well. Blow my diet and watch the GOAT walk all over the chiefs tomorrow. Come Monday I'll deal with the car. I'd almost prefer to have the issue documented until a real solution is discovered. The painted stripes...I'll tell you. I'm not excited with the thought of my dealer's body shop spraying it.

I agree. Its crap. I know Ford is very concerned with the folks who have painted stripes. I dont think the dealer has to do the paint. I believe it can be the shop of your choice. If i was in this position, i would insist that Penske does it. It would come down to the argument over who pays for transportation.....

For those that are still dropping their hood, stop doing that now.

Adjust your hood bumper stops so that you can push each latch to set it and one press over the center latch.

I would keep doing this until a solution is found by Ford. I dont drop my hood. I do as I describe and I have no cracks.

I'll keep everyone updated come next week. In the meantime, it's basically totaled. I'm parting it out. jkjk.

I'll take the wing, wheels, and seats. Let me know how much for the engine and transmission

My cracks are growing and new ones are showing up. One has propagated passed the support. It has not been driven much at speed since the bump stop adjustment but maybe once they start it’s never going to stop.
The last pic is a manufacturing defect. It has clear coat over it so it’s not a new crack and has not grown. I found that when I first found the cracks but since it is not a crack I did not post it then.

once you get a crack, the only way to stop it from spreading is drilling a stop hole.

I’m sure the more the hood opens and closes the more slight flex movement if the ve rack wil continue to move

No cracks found yet, but based on the poll, odds are not good.
BTW, 11 months and 4000 miles with a few short hot runs. Guess I am just lucky.
I did adjust (lower) the driver side stop after a check with the calipers and lube the pins.

Do y’all guys happen to have the actual measurement of where it needs to be? Is there an actual spec ?

I based my measurement on the actual wear marks on the weather strip along the sides and the transfer marks on the hood dimples. Not a spec for sure but more of a feeling and comparison of the finish match on the hood to cowl.

If you are talking about the hood stops on either side (bumpers) there is no actual specs in the repair manual as to measurement height. They just want you to raise or lower to give a proper level or gap between the hood and the fenders.

There are two ways that I adjust those stops. One, you can bring them down quite a bit, notice the height of the edge of the hoot in relationship to the fender and slowly keep racing up the stop until you see the hood start to raise. Then what I do it lower it down just a bit.

Two, and what I did on this car recently to be a bit more accurate since it seems some people are getting cracks in their hood is this: I lowered down the stops a couple of turns and then I put a thin coat of white lithium grease on the top of the bumpers. I smeared it on at least 50% of the top. I kept opening and closing the hood as I slowly raised the bumpers up half turn at a time. When I started seeing the grease on the hood I knew I was close. I wanted to see how large the spot would be as I would raise up the stop and it kept getting bigger and bigger, almost the size of a dime. This put too much pressure on the hood. I lowered them down so the grease spots were about the diameter of a pencil eraser equally on each stop and I knew this would not put a lot of pressure on the hood. I was not closing the hood by dropping it but by slowly pushing it closed in the center right over the latch.
