Possibly from having monkey sex on top of the hood?
Maybe in my younger days. Lol

I do as recommended and drop the hood from about 10”. The car has seen 161 mph and several 140-145 mph. Some sustained runs at 120-125 mph.

Well, since mine went over 180 MPH, I guess I can go out an look at mine and see if it is a dynamic pressure issue. I'll report back later.

Edit to add:
No cracks. My money is on my original theory.....
Finally an issue your car is free of.

Mine has a crack just like yours on the passenger side near the bump stop, but the same place on the driver side has only a hint of a crack. Every where else is ok. Your white makes them really show up. On kona blue I would have never spotted them even though lint from a dust towel had snagged on the crack. I have 1800 street miles on the OD, but until I lubed the hood locks, I had to drop the hood from about 18" to get them to latch. Now you can just push it shut with your hand.
I lubed the locks when I got the car. The drivers side was always smooth and an easy push. The passenger side needs a tad of force to get it to release.
I’ve also noticed the panel gap between the hood and finders are very different on each side. Take a look at the pics. Driver's side has good panel gap but the hood is above the fender. Passenger side has a bigger panel gap and sits above the fender. The leading edge of the hood sits above the front facia. I am thinking improper hood alignment maybe a contributing factor.

I would be more worried about how much higher the hood is compared to the fender. It looks like the bump stops are set way to high.

I like to disassemble things.
My passenger side sits higher than the fender. Having the hood open for weeks on end may not help. The driver side sags a little in comparison as it has no strut to prop it up and as a result the hood takes on a slight set.

I would "like" your post..... but I don't like it.

Ill check my hood when I get the car back. Makes me wonder what effects I may or may not get with my new SA Anderson CF hood.

So that makes 5 cars as of today. Mine plus 2 on here and 2 from the cruise this past weekend.
Something tells me this is going to be a common issue.
I went to the dealership first thing this morning. The service writer said it’s a bodyshop warranty issue. Head over there. I get there and the warranty rep does not come in until 9. So I left and will be headed back at lunch.

New hood, stripes. Thankfully white is as easy as could be to match.

Maybe I ought to have a second look.

Just checked my hood and here we are cracked:
ABDA8889-12F3-4D1A-BD0E-6873A935A504.jpeg

This was taken on the backside of hood on passenger side. Driver’s side has a crack starting on backside and has not yet gone all the way through the frame support.

I suggest y’all check the backside also if you can’t see a crack on the front.

The passenger side is all the way through hard to see on the front side however you can easily feel the crack on the front lip.

The backside drivers side you can feel yet you can’t see it.
