For those of us in the medical field, no surprise here.
Your overall health (which should hint at the state of your immune system) and your genetics (luck) matched with the viral load you receive basically determines your outcome.
My family and my practice have been taking this seriously since the beginning.
At this point, I feel we need to monitor the public data and if going in a positive direction, reopen society and the economy with common sense precautions.
Of course, common sense is the least common of the senses

Honestly a bunch of friends were traveling to family lake houses and cottages and they trying to contain that. Northern state areas with little hospitals are at risk.

Same thing in MN. They are telling people not to head to the northern lake country as medical facilities up there would be overwhelmed immediately if there were an outbreak since they are limited (if not non-existent) to begin with in the remote areas.

Some people just don't get it.

As for your reply, I have to disagree. The original intent had to be one or the other. And yes, I fully realize that we do the same thing.

But, if this was an accidental release and that fact is proven, that's one thing, and the Chinese should be forced to compensate.

However, if it was an INTENTIONAL release, all bets are off.

We have seen all of the lawsuits springing up against China, and rightly so. But there is one REAL thing we(the US Govt) can do and that is take back our $1.2T in Treasury Bonds owned by China with just a few keystrokes, as it had been "media'tised".

They could open restaurants/shops with a strict occupancy and distance policy. They could either space people a table apart or remove them and put up plastic shields between. They could make aisles at stores, One way only, and compartmentalise buildings, etc. Something, to get the US going again.

And 306. I live in Michigan, so I understand this. Some people have cabins in semi-remote areas in the northern part of the the Lower Peninsula. I say semi-remote because there are people there, but not a lot of medical infrastructure. The idea is to keep people from casually going from hotspot areas, like Detroit and Oakland County (two COVID-19 hotspots) and spreading the illness to areas that have zero capacity to deal with it.

I would hope that anyone out there who feels their rights were infringed upon would look at the big picture and realize that this is a state of emergency. Had we not done what we did, the story would be much worse.
