With this COVID-19 VIRUS now circling the globe do you foresee a delay in our cars??? If we do I can live with it knowing the total chaos that is now happening. I just didn't see any news on Ford shutting down so thought I would ask you guys. My car is scheduled to be built the week of March 23rd thru 27th. Also seeing posts on the screws for the Gurney Flap. I assume the "correct" ones are included in the box that Ford will send with it????? I ordered my car on the first day that the order banks opened in early July of last year so needless to say I have fine tuned my patience. LOL Hope everybody out there is "Safe & Sound" during these very rough times. Hope you all have ample toilet paper too.

Not to be an alarmist but I would expect a stoppage/delay of production. The inevitable moment that a production worker is diagnosed with Coranvirus will ensure it. I'm no expert but the trend is obvious. Anything non essential is being suspended. Just a point of reference, 3 cops in my hometown are currently in quarantine after being exposed....it's real. I respect other's right to an opinion but hope this forum steers clear of partisan political views and conspiracy theories in the mean time.

It has been reported that Ford, GM and Chrysler have asked all salaried employees to work from home beginning this coming week. At this point, there is no indication that hourly assembly plant workers are affected, but I can't see how they won't be as this situation continues.

You gotta be kidding me. This is so far out of reality its ridiculous.

This virus will most likely kill between 1.5-3% of the worlds population.

This virus will most likely bankrupt Ford and the other automakers. Looking for a global depression after that.

You car will most likely be built on time baring Chinese made sensors or parts that have supply chain disruptions in the next couple weeks.

I think people will understand soon enough how bad this is.

The vast majority of people at risk are those over 70....IF THEY CONTRACT IT AND DO NOTHING. The current risk of dying from COVID19 if you contract it and are between 70-80 is under 4%. 80+ that number us 14.8%. Keep in mind that everything viral including influenza has a huger risk of taking life for people over 70. As for people 60 and under the risk of death from COVID19 is vastly lower at 1.3% risk ages 50-60 and below 1% for those 50 and under. See attached.

I think his main point was that the msm is using the current situation to push there agenda. It’s hard to deny that. I’m still waiting for someone to explain the logic in buying all the toilet paper you can get your hands on.
Walmart was actually rationing toilet paper and Kleenex. The only paper products on the shelves were paper plates.

Please pull your head out of your ass. The financial crisis couldn’t even bankrupt Ford! At the most, they cut the dividend and go back to business as usual selling the shit out of the F-150 after this blows over.

The Ford and GM engineers I know have been working from home for over a week already. To get into a Ford plant right now, you have to be considered business critical. I would assume this is the same across the board for all 3.

Factories will slow but not shut down should this continue for another 30 days. If anything they will idle factories due to slow new car sales. As far as the GT500 can’t see production completely stopped but possible delays due to all the variables.

I completely agree with you. This virus will kill between 1.5-3% of the world's population. With the current global population at 7.8 billion, assuming 0 population growth, a global death rate of those infected optimistically set at 1,000,000 (influenza kills 650,000 people annually on a global scale), and no chance of a vaccine.......EVER, we can meet your number in about 117 to 234 YEARS. By way of comparison, if you would have said "...will kill between 1.5-3% of those INFECTED globally", that's easy to believe and more or less, accurate. It's bad or going to be because of the hammerheads panic buying worthless shit and the media giving us insight into the dumpster fire that is these people's lives. 80K people died in the US alone during the 2017-2018 flu season, no one batted an eye. 6500 people (out of 7.8 billion) have died globally so far and everyone is losing their shit. Makes perfect sense!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go panic buy a couple of Phillipino hookers before the doomsday preppers get to 'em.

BTW, here's my source.
