A lot. But that's beside the point. The point is, if I'm infected and shake hands with you, does that mean I've infected you? Not if you wash your hands after that. If you don't, well, that's your fault, not mine.
After all, what good is not shaking hands, if we're going to touch the same door handle, or shopping trolley, or ATM machine, or petrol pump, perhaps without even knowing of one another? Why is a person who shakes hands a selfish moron?
Under the current circumstances, you must wash your hands after touching anything in public, including other people's hands. If you don't, then you get infected, but you only have yourself to blame. A man who shook hands with you is no more to blame than someone who happens to have touched something before you did.
Come on man this is the laziest most socially irresponsible thing I’ve seen. People should be avoiding passing the virus around by not going out and touching door handles and shaking hands. You know the reason we are tanking the economy is to reduce the spread of the virus. It’s people who are too selfish to change their behavior for a few weeks that are propagating the spread. I’ll make you a deal , you keep shaking hands and going about things as usual but you don’t get access to health care when you get sick , break a leg , have a heart attack etc. because our hospital system is full of Covid -19 patients . Look at Italy and look at the U.K. for how your approach worked out . We are 12 days behind them . It’s not just about people dying from the virus , it’s people dying from lack of access to physicians for things that are treatable ! I am a cardiac Anesthesiologist in a major medical center and we are already running low on protective equipment we need to care for patients . In a matter of 2 days we have gone from 1 suspected case in our ICU to 3 confirmed cases and 20 rule outs . This virus isn’t as deadly as Ebola but it is both more deadly than the flu and more transmissible . It’s exponential growth of infected people if we do nothing and by mid April our hospital systems WILL collapse. And out of our patients in the US a significant percentage of 20-40 year olds infected are requiring ICU care (about 6%) which is very different than the rest of the world. So it’s not just an old frail people problem anymore. We are risking our lives literally to care for all of you , have the human decency to do your part.

the damage was done weeks ago. You're delusional if you think this total farce of a non-quarantine is going to do jack squat. But the economic damage is MASSIVE and very real.

it’s people dying from lack of access to physicians for things that are treatable
Let's talk about the 100,000 people YOU in the medical field kill thru totally preventable mal-practice known as HAI. So what do you call PA's latest lunacy? People go stark raving mad with tooth pain and die of sepsis too. All of a sudden a large number of people have no recourse to get necessary dentistry. The gov't unilaterally took away the doctor's prerogative to treat patients. WTF.

I'm sorry that you're running out of PPF but this farce of a non-quarantine won't save you. Replenishments are likely NOT to get to you in time before the system is overwhelmed. Tough shit, really. It's an occupational hazard. If you don't want to show up to work once the gear runs out, that's your choice to make.

We're already refusing to issue tests to people who are not at-risk and only if they clear the other viral checks. The system is already "overwhelmed". Sidelining medical staff who test positive is insane. Just put them in the ward with all the known infected to continue their work.

Look at Italy and look at the U.K. for how your approach worked out
Yes it shows the glorious results of Socialized Medicine. But Italy's medical system was total crap before this showed up. They don't call Italy the Sick man of Europe for nothing. But even in Italy some 96% (higher?) deaths were result of pre-existing problems and COvid simply pushed the patient over the edge. Plus the country is lousy with Chinese. The fail wasn't because "cower in your homes" wasn't put in place, the FAIL was "hug a chinese" and allowing direct flights to Wuhan for WEEKS. Political correctness KILLs people. As another example 450,000 dead from AIDs back in the 80's can be directly attributed to Feinstein's (mayor of SFO) refusal to close the bath houses for a whole YEAR.

God bless you man...…. I 100% agree with you. However you are wasting your breath. America is, as Andrew Jackson once stated, "the masses of asses". People are clueless and politicians want to get re-elected. The FL response from our governor is pathetic. He left closures of local and county recreational areas and beach closures up to each public entity. I complained to our county council and city to stop spring break. I was dismissed based upon the assertion that people are practicing social distancing. I replied with these two photos that I took the next day. I didnt want to venture too far down the beach where it became much more crowded. His response...... they appear to be in compliance with CDC and WHO recommendations. I guess he cant count to 10.

So now you are calling out a medical doctor. You are delusional and should be ashamed of yourself. By the way, what age demographic do you fall under? You never did answer my question.

Its ok myself and the rest of “ Us” in the medical field will still do everything in our power to save him and his families life , no matter what kind of dumbfuckery he spouts.

I like to disassemble things.
Speaking of gas station filler nozzles...the wife stared at me for a moment when I suggested she use a glove when pumping gas. This is a practice I believed in years before this Wutang debacle.
