LMFAO…

the above isn’t just Corvette owners - hell, even S550 owners (on all platforms) seem to think they too can still make bank when that ship sailed 3 years ago….
🤣
maybe. But I bought my '21 new in march of '22 at sticker, lots of dealers wanted 5K over list on new mustangs. found one that gave me an incredible amount for my trade, 2% financing, and sold me the GT at sticker. I looked at ordering a vette at the time and minimum ADM was 10K and a 6-8 month wait. I think used c8 owners are the last group to figure out the party's over.

As an 80s kid who grew up with the Lamborghini on my wall, I really would like to get into a C8, but the timing is not right for me. The transmission issue does cause me some pause too. I haven't met too many actual owners who have had it though. However, you are a fool if you buy a used one. MacMulkin has new ones on the lot for 10k off (I looked today)...ship anywhere. That would be my counter to any sales guy at any other dealer about it. Where I am in AL, it would be museum delivery...full stop. Now those have some limited options as far as colors etc. but it is a lot of 2LTs and a good range of colors. Ordering new is MSRP. I don't know how anyone is selling a C8 used for anything over 10k off original MSRP. Buying a corvette isn't an immediate need...I gotta have this car to get to work...lol.
I grew up with the same mid engine pictures. I know Zoras dream was always to have a mid engine Corvette. But now that it’s here it’s not that appealing to me. Looks like all the others. Imo, doesn’t look that good in all the colors available. Just my .02.

Fair enough, but I think they nailed it. It will probably be C9 though before I can give it serious consideration.

Unless they plop the engine in the rear like the C8
Ford has done that before. We're used to Mustangs being more practical than a Camaro, and less expensive than a Corvette, and mid-engine Fords tend to lack those virtues.

Wish Ford would bring back either Thunderbird or Pantera as an affordable mid-engine sports car competitor to C8. There was a rumor a few years ago they were when they were benchmarking a C8 and renewed the T-bird name.

saw a modern Thunderbird the other day. Talk about 50's throwback in grill and window styling.
I don't want it to be like the 2005 one...I mean a real sports car aimed at the C8. Reignite the original rivalry between T bird and Corvette. I had zero interest in owning a corvette until C8.

And the C8 sounds awful too. Doesn't even sound like a V8
Yeah, I have to agree, the mustang hands down has a better sound

the c8 is just kind of more refined and classy looking imo….

As been said, apples and oranges you cant really compare… but as an admirer of fun cars… they are a frikken blast to drive….

My neighbor had one for a while, it did sound like shit. Very 4 banger-like especially on cold starts. Pretty weird.

He didn't keep it long, said the insurance was costing him 1500 a month, but not sure if i believe him on that note.

Doesn't matter ... cause GM will sell them as fast as they'll make em.
The C8 is the perfect example of supply & demand.
