I love my mustangs and have owned many over the years. My first car was a '91 5.0 in high-school, and I got addicted after that. Having supercharged a '97 corvette with lingenfelter stuff, the car is fast for as much as it weighs.

I love cars and the perfection with certain models, but canning say the new zr1 is absolutely insane? Especially with a warranty from the factory?

Once again, I love my mustangs, but the new ZR1 seems like an absolute monster. Track or drag strip, what in the literal F did Chevy come up with.

I'll never get to buy one, modify my mustang to be like that, or even hope of ever seeing one around where I live, but holy God damn. I'm sorry but I'd trade my mustang, and my life for one of those. Good job GM.

The C8 ZR1 is an absolute beast.

I think it does 0 -60 in like 2.5 seconds?
0 - 100 in like 6.5 seconds?
0 -150 in like 10.5 seconds? If I recall those numbers correctly.

And the best part,...it can be driven on the street.
Wait till the insurance companies see those numbers. LOL I bet a car like that will be about 8 - 10k a year for insurance, if not very close.

Personally, I think the ERay is far more of an engineering feat, and more "special". But I also think the Z06 is more special too. So 🤷‍♂️...

It's certainly cool though, I'd gladly take one, sell it, and use it to fund a GTD!

Love the car , hate the fact they are marketing it to have twin 76mm turbo’s with zero lag.
as far as I can tell it has a custom BW7670 with an all in one exhaust side housing.
BW name their turbos differently that everyone else and in common talk they are 57/61 size turbo’s running 24 psi peak.

The Gemini logo on the turbos is a cool touch. Not sure if one can actually see it on the car. But still cool.

Hats off to GM for throwing down the gauntlet so to speak, during this politically correct EV era. Note to Jim Farley, current CEO of Ford, now would be a good time to update the Ford GT (GT40) and put in a proper TT 5.2L V8. The TT3.5 ecoboost they used may have got the job done, to some degree, but never sounded correct and the GT flagship deserved a V8 as homage to the original program.

Hopefully we're past that and can have the proper engineering we all deserver in V8s moving forward!

I'd take the C8 ZR1 over the GTD everytime and twice on sunday!
Agreed.
Not that I was ever a potential customer anyway, but they lost me at 4,300 lbs.
