this one will be for either, and if you have the darko mod, itll be like having the tsb installed like the later mustangs. i am working on another revision of the part, to include the bend in the pipe already so i can source some cheaper tubing options.

Cool I am waiting patiently for the release! The pipe I used was that corrugated fish pond pump tubing recommended to use with Darko's kit. Picked up more than enough to do 4 seats for like 20 bucks I think it was, at my local fish pond place, and Darko's kit uses 3 pieces of pipe per seat. It's already flexible and with a little heat it will go wherever you want it to go.

Before it starts getting hot again I was thinking of ordering the kit from SeatGuru and seeing how well it works. Do I need to remove the seats to install it? Is there any guide to opening the back of the seat up?

Just pull the seats out, 4 bolts. Seriously, its the easiest way with all that needs to be done in there and trying to contort or sit in the back while doing it is only going to make you throw things. When you get the seat out its very obvious what needs to be done to open it up.

Any progress on this.

I experienced what you guys say about the the back seat fan. It felt like I had the heated seat on. I kept looking down at the control buttons. Ok it's on cooled seats, why why in fuck is my back hot. lol

Yes!! got the tubing in. this is prob overkill stuff, but itll last in the car with heat.

also doing a little revision on the "pipe" to better fit the tubing on the end. 2 and a half hours and ill know if that nipple for the tubing will work.

next, ill have to install it on my car. my work has a FLIR camera, so i wanted to do photos of one seat with no pipe, and a seat with a pipe to show the difference... but theoretically, it should work. the TED fan should push all that hot air right out of that tube OUTSIDE the seat, making it much more efficient.

Has anyone tried routing a tube(s) from the AC to the seat? Maybe run it under the console?

I'm pretty sure that's what my wifes MKZ does.

Her seats will literally freeze your ass off to where you will have to turn them down in 95* weather.

Can’t wait to see this in action. What type of filament are you using? My concern is the heat exposure. Not sure if PLA will hold up to the heat. Maybe ABS or PETG would be better.

Looking forward to the results.

the test prints were in PLA so i dont burn up all my ABS.

final prints for sale will be ABS for sure. i have the tube, and the test piece printed, now i just need to get into the back of the seat. not really looking forward to that, given that im in Florida, and its like 90 degrees here from sunup to midnight :p

I feel you. That sounds miserable.

I have a 2015 mustang and had ford install the TSB fix which didn’t do anything since the heat from the unit was still there.

I’m guessing your kit works along with the update?

If it works sign me up for one!!

Just get some ventilated seat covers like these. I am also in Florida and I hardly ever use my cooled seats with these installed. Seats never really get hot.. Love them.

I was wondering the same thing and no one ever said they had tried it. I am assuming the console is best route, but console seems to be poorly insulated and HOT! And then what happens when seat moves forward or back or reclines?

It sure will! As it goes over the Output of the fan, vs the darko mod which goes over the input.

Also, if anyone else needs a darko mod kit, I thought he wasnt selling them anymore? So if people still want them, I can respin it and sell the kit, and include the tubing and such as well.
