Hey all,
It's like 100 degrees lately and I'm wondering if there are any radiator additives that work i could add. I used to use water wetter, but that was like 20 years ago. Got any helpful tech on this subject?

Instead of 50/50 go 60%w/40%c or even 70%w/30%c

100% distilled water is the best to take heat away. Antifreeze keeps it from turning into steam or freezing

I would think resistance to boiling and steam is mostly handled by the pressure inside the cooling system.

50/50 mix only increase the boiling point of pure water by 11°F give or take. 212° vs 223° (this number probably varies slightly depending on type of coolant)

At operating tempature, our cars are around 15-18psi inside the closed loop cooling system (we have a 21 psi max cap)

3°f for every 1 psi above atmosphere. 3° x 16psi=48°

Or I'm wrong. And that's fine too.😂

I dumped a bottle of Motocool from Motul into my radiator tank.

I wouldn't worry about it if coolant tests fine these things are tortured and proven in hottest deserts.

Oil handles majority of cooling anyway so if you need it for extreme competition maybe an oil cooler with fan is the way to go.

That is some fine math. I will take your word for it.

What are your current engine temps that make you worried about the stock cooling capabilities?
