Are any of you getting any compensation from Ford for having their cars at the dealer for long periods of time? My car has been at the dealer for more than 30 days and the eta for the parts they need is Sept. 4th. That would mean my mustang would have been at the dealer for 60 + days and was only in my possession for a month. I don't want to go the lemon law route so I'm reaching out to see what Ford is doing for individuals who have been inconvenienced like I have. I love my mustang (while I had it), but this is getting ridiculous!

I can't speak for Ford, but my last car was a VW Sportwagen TDI that spent about a month at the dealership while they tried to fix an emissions issue that would have put the car in the lemon-law category if not fixed. I complained to VW customer service about the long wait time, and in addition to the free rental car(s), they gave me a check for $300 (one month's car payment), plus another $300 worth of VW "accessories" (mats, kits, etc). They would not have given me that if I hadn't asked though.

I'd be asking them to pay payments.

And they will. Just go up the chain, seen it happen. They'll take care of you, just be adamant yet professional and respectful.

Nope. Just rental/loaner.

My car has been at the dealer for a total of 35 days now (5 appointments), and I left it today at the dealer again (6th time) since they scratched my hood, sides and trunk on my last appointment.
same thing happened to me.. took it in to get the trunk realigned (which they did a reasonable job of), but over the next few days noticed three separate nicks and scratches that they had obviously caused while doing the work

I don't see the point in taking it back again, every time they fix something, they damage something else.

Wow - 60 days????? In Georgia, Ford would have to buy the car back from you under the State Lemon Law.

Here in NC its 4 tries or 20 DAYS! I know I can go that route, but why bother with another mustang with likely that same issue and having to take it back again. I already had it tinted and put a new exhaust on it so I dont want to lose on that too. Then again...a GT would be nice!

There was one member here who had his car in for a month or so and the dealer paid his payment as a courtesy.

You should definitely run something up the flag pole and see what they'll offer.

I have been holding off on my rant but......... Ford Service is a joke. Started with my delivery when they only had 1 key. It took a month and dozens of calls and a couple of trips back to get the second key. Then 3 weeks to get a $10 fender clip, now I sit and wait for a shield that was defective. I have also found that Ford hires kids with little or no experience. My first visit to the dealer was 2 weeks after getting the car. Pulled it in the service bay and the writer girl who looked about 13 years old comes out and starts measuring my tires. She told me she ALWATS has to do that in case I need tires. I told her the car was 2 weeks old and she looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. Then she ask me how to start the car so she could get my mileage. More to follow..........

This. Have seen this mentioned with success by folks on this very forum.

I know one personally that Ford paid a payment while his car was in the shop for a month or so.
