With supply chain issues, covid, you name it...picking a date when these are ready to ship has got to be a bit of a crapshoot. I hope the "16-20 weeks" has some cushion built in and turns out to be fairly accurate. If not, it is what it is - I agree.

Based on what I see and what AC has said so far I am excited and look forward to seeing these get delivered and being bolted on. Having done it a few times now, I'm also interested in seeing if AC provides either dimensions or a template for hole locations. I went the route of drilling/welding/painting an extra decklid and sett my OEM decklid with the swing bolted in place, in storage. You guys might wanna start looking for another one if you wanna leave your factory one untouched.
Was it you that said the oem mounts are available to order separately? If they are, and they are reasonable, maybe that is the way to go.

I mean yea, the security fasteners will help to some degree. But anyone who thinks that is a $16k wing will probably have a hard on for it. Those are the simple facts and that is the problem with having nice stuff and letting it out of your sight.
This subject fascinates me. For some reason, I’m trying to understand why someone would park a car like this where there is such a risk. I’m certain if you park in a place where this is anything more than a consideration, based on my experience as a professional trash collector, it will happen. Consider this a PSA. :like:

Right. If you are going to take your car and park it off out of sight for any kind of time, don't have anything on the car that you can't accept losing.

For instance, I've kept the signature wheels for this very purpose. CF wheels? I think there is a good chance they might go bye bye. Signature wheels? No.

Same for the wing. I certainly could swallow loosing a $3K wing over a $16k OEM. Cost of doing business i guess.

And I agree with you. Anyone who knows what these items are worth will take advantage of an opportunity if it presents itself.

I did. Ford issued a note to their parts network a few months ago that the factory chopped carbon fiber uprights for the CFTP wing were available separate from the wing. Here is the listing from Ford...

Even with a discounted price I suspect that the entire AC wing kit may be less than the OEM uprights alone from Ford.

And if it matters, the current retail price for the entire CFTP wing kit from Ford...

To phrase someone I know….. “Jeebus“! Pricing for the wing has gone up quite a bit…. Wow.

On the plus side, most parts are available next business day…….

Yup, and unless you are local to a dealer who sells at a discount, you‘re back up to 18k+ after tax and shipping. If they even would ship it.

Once again, inflated prices by Ford. They are not worth that much. Just like the wing, the mounts are jacked way up for insurance pricing or anti poser purposes. I would like to compare the AC aluminum mounts to the multimatic ones. If they appear to be about the same quality, I might seriously consider removing the CF mounts off my car and replacing with AC for normal street use. AC did say that the wing assembly was tested to 130+ MPH. Thats a far cry from 180+.

I'm quite certain that Von Mises stresses would show that in the plane the upright section of the 6061-T6 aluminum mount is loaded in is extremely strong. Same goes for the entire mount in aluminum instead of cf.

...FFP based on images isnt a replica as the replicas are 1 piece and FFP is not as it seems to be in 3 pieces. Pic below:

The ends are bonded onto the airfoil on the OEM CF wing so to be fair it does look like he's following that regiment anyway.

I see the cavity is filled and they have contoured a void in the middle of the area for what I assume to be to allow water to drain.

I assume he's bonding the ends to the airfoil with no fasteners as that's what it looks like.

Where I think his effort gets lost is in the details. Titanium bolts? That's as silly as it gets. You gain no additional strength, don't see them, and it only adds to the cost. Stainless security fasteners would have been a nice touch. And why add even more expense with fiber uprights when CNC'd aluminum, powder coated black, get the job done with ease (and again, at far less cost).

Looks like the uprights he's using at the moment are cast from a mold (note the circles you see on the part), parting lines are easy to see.

Ordered one too. Number 1 on the list. Fabian at Lethal took my order and I asked him for an availability date and he called Anderson while I held on the line. Anderson says early January they should be shipping. Upright scan is the plan!
@Tom@Lethal
@Anderson Composites

Just wanted to check in and see if the early January target was still happening.

I have an extra OEM wing that was removed from a new car… I’ve come to the realization that I will most likely never use it… it’s just sitting in the shipping box in my garage. If anyone wants the real McCoy, send me a pm.

Sure, I'll take it. How much?
