I have the JLT from a post above but if I were the OP and planning to go Whipple I would get the Motion or UPR vented cans.
What are the advantages of those choices for that application?

I also have the same J & L set up as post # 14. Everything fits nice and I can unscrew the can even with the engine cover in place.

Go with the UPR catch cans I have had J&L and I have had the Ford Performance, the UPR is superior to both.

The Ford Performance is not a well thought out design and after a while your dirty side will start to leak past the gasket and you will have a fine oil mist on parts next to where it mounts.

Ford tells you to use pour the collected oil out of the tube the hose connects to. But if you want to clean the inside of the Ford unit you have to remove the Allen screws and that is where the problem with leaking over time come in, the gasket will start to get weak and leak and I have never found a source for replacement gaskets.

Also for those with ecoboost engines the clean side is known to throw a code because it the electrical connection detects a fault on that side. The good thing is on an ecoboost the clean side is just that clean, you won't ever find any oil collected on that side. The clean side on the ecoboost is the passenger side the dirty is on the drivers side.

Back to the metal cans like the UPR they are easier to check and clean because you just unscrew the can unlike the Ford Performance version where you have to remove the allen screws to remove the top of the plastic catch tank if you want to actually clean the inside of the tank.

They are vented (there's an air filter on the top of the can) so that you can relieve any positive pressure from the engine.
If you want to vent the crankcase purchase the UPR oil filler cap that has the oneway check valve. I prefer to keep my PCV system closed, it comes with a check valve as well to keep boost from back feeding into the crankcase but in my opinion the superior solution is the oil cap that is vented with a filter.

It's much cheaper to just vent the valve covers. But the oil cap alone doesn't do both sides plus you run the risk of getting oil spray.

Ford performance. Oem fit. You dont need to empty it but once evey oil change or two. Fine graned large screen.

Had a JLT too and honestly didnt like it much.
+1 for FP catch can.

I like to reduce clutter under the hood. I installed my Motion Raceworks catch can down low next to the SC inlet. E85 puts out a lot of moisture that requires frequent draining. I drain it through a hole in the splash shield. Also keeping any crankcase fumes as far away from the HVAC inlet as possible.

I ran JLTs when the car was NA. When I switched to a Centrifugal SC I put on a UPR Vented. It is my opinion the UPR is the better design and quality product for the money spent. I quite appreciate the UPR Vented. It is always a kick to watch people point at the hood vents when the car is warming up from a cold start and see the condensation and gases being vented out through the race louver vents I have.

So I am looking to buy a passenger side catch can. Im not sure if all are equal in terms of what they filter and such. Ive looked at the upright, j&l, and mishimoto. I kind of prefer where the mishimoto mounts and am curious if its a little easier to access than the others?
From a quick scan, I don't see that your second question was ever directly addressed. I have the Mishimoto separator on a Stock '19 GT. I like how the can mounts out of the way (see attached photo). Since it's under the radiator support cover, you do have top remove the 11 push pins to easily access it for drainage. With the proper tool -- or even just a straight screwdriver -- it only takes a couple of minutes off and on. It is a very nicely made piece. I cannot compare how effective it is, since it is the first and only oil separator I have ever owned.

As far as mounting it seems the UPR mounts towards the radiator more like the mishimoto, which is my preference.

So just make sure this is the correct one being NA still

That's the one. UPR also employs a superior coalescing element inside the can. It's designed to coalesce water and oil mists into larger droplets without blinding the element and causing pressure burps. Less liquid escapes past the element that way.

Thanks for all the info yall. So I ended up going with the UPR unit over the mishimoto as the upr has a driver's side I can add later when I go FI. UPRs website was actually the cheapest option out of all the stores , plus i snagged 20% off the order. Hoping to get it by this weekend as we are supposed to have two days near 50 so I can get it installed before it drops back in the 20s.
