Borla Touring uses a resonator but from the pictures, the pipes do cross. FRPP Xpipes are different looking than Borla's but the touring and sport share the same xpipes and uses different mufflers.

Agree. touring looks to have an H in the resonator.

Can't wait for some new videos of this setup
Will try to get some this weekend for you.

It is a little louder than I expected and I am happy about that

I was worried it would be too quiet. It is not. At least for me.

I'm curious about this too. After listening to the Borla touring sound clips, there is a nice deepness to this. I really want to hear how the borla touring with a lethal performance resonator delete & h-pipe would sound. I feel like it would be possibly slightly lower or slightly louder than the Roush ABs with resonator, but nothing extreme. I could be completely wrong though lol.

What you are thinking about is pretty much a Borla S Type cat back. The Borla S type uses an X not and H but it then has S type muffs. The Touring uses the same S type muffs but uses an mid muff instead of the X pipe.

So if you swap the mid muff from the touring to an H or X you end up with an S type cat back with an H

Hope this didn't confuse you lol

I can tell you that Borla S Type with MRT H-Pipe was a lot louder than I expected. For me I had to take off the MRT H-Pipe and put the Ford OEM resonator back on. With OEM Resonator it toned down the Borla S axle backs quite a bit. I wish I had taken dB measurements between the two but without that all I can say is the difference was considerable.

Lol I figured as much. I know they have like 4 different types. But some were axlebacks and others are catbacks. So the S type is like the touring? I wonder how that will sound with a lethal performance resonator delete.

Borla Touring is S type with a mid muffler instead of X pipe

FYI this is not to be confused with FFRP by Borla. This kit uses an X pipe not a mid muffler.

Yeah I got it now. Just looking to shed the weight of the resonator and get a deep sound without waking up the neighborhood. I know my v6 roush axle backs were somewhat loud in cold start. I enjoyed it every time. I feel like the gt roush ABs would be too much. Back to the drawing board lol. Sorry to hijack the thread.

I have the GT Roush Axleback and will go to Borla Touring route as well. The rumble of the Roush in my opinion is the best mid loud exhaust sound i heard so far.The factory resonator helps a lot but still a little too loud for me.

Roush with resonator delete is extremely loud. I really don't like to have a car screaming when i m just only accelerating mildly touching the gas pedal.

Borla Touring looks like tamed under partial throttle but still gives a nice deep tone. Cruising with this bad boy will be awesome too.

Just be ready for a shock at first. It will sound very quiet at first coming from any aftermarket exhaust. The mid muff really does quiet it down but as you get used to it you will like it.

Yeah I hear you. Now, as you can see I'm not familiar with the borla system. Frpp touring by borla vs borla touring. Is there any variation to it? Is the frpp touring lower than borlas original touring or vice versa?

The FRPP touring doesn't have the mid-muffler so it would be louder and have a different tone than the Borla original. It would be subject to more drone as well.

I have had Borla's touring cat-backs on most of the cars I've owned. I always go with Borla because I love the sound of them and the touring versions are never too loud and have minimal, if any, drone.
