Dremel certainly takes longer but yes, way more control.
I came to my senses real quick lol after I went outside of my cut line.
Passenger side done with dremel. Much more finesse lol

I love how these cars look with the rear valence cut off. Looks more open, less draggy, more race car. And to think people pay money for different looking ones.
I must admit…I used to be people. But then I realized that I could save money and make the car look better and perform better. Cutting the bumper save me the cost of a GT350 valance or 2018+ bumper and they say…a penny saved is a penny earned. So I earned a smooth $600+. I guess I have my splitter money right there lol.

Just to add to ongoing small projects…
Designing a trunk bumpstop to 3D print it in TPU. This will allow better transfer of downforce from the wing to the chassis. I know I could stick a piece of delrin or similar in the cavity but this allows me to work on my modeling skills.

also I am modeling a splitter and will send to 9 lives to cut. It will be in compliance with SCCA Max class rules which is 6” from bodyline(but splitter will be 5” from body). If all goes well I can provide file so whoever can get a splitter made without having to go through the tracing process.

Yes I would like both your bumpstop and splitter files when you get done and have a chance please :) I need a 5” splitter for NASA TT4

@Biggsy congrats on earning $600 by cutting up your car 😆
I'm tempted at adding fender vents as well but should probably save my money for coilovers first.

Is your splitter going to be flat or curved or have diffusers? I came across an Occam's Racer article recently that was quite informative. That guy suggests if the splitter is flat without diffusers, it's not doing anything (or not much anyway). Glad I read that article because I was about to buy an APR splitter (which is flat). Now, when I get to that point, I'll probably have Racebred build me one with big diffusers.

Sure thing. The plan is to have the splitter template finished this weekend. Will trace on Friday and print out to make sure all measurements are correct

So I’ll be providing 9Lives with a dxf/2D shape that they then do what they do to all their splitters. When I was looking for that answer, they do curve the bottom end of their splitter. I will be using Ale’s quick release system and AJs diffusers to finish off the splitter.

The feedback I received from APR customers is that their splitter is pretty thin. I haven’t seen one in person to confirm.
Racebred was top of my list but they limit width due to shipping

Sounds like it's going to make a good amount of downforce. Can't wait to see pictures!

what we really need is this. maybe hiding behind the bumper shell, or bolted into the under-tray?

The undertray is going away. Will just be the bumper and the lip

Fender vents in and currently being installed. Color match the body (magnetic).
RC Hotcoats in Hunt Valley, MD did an awesome job. They have very fair pricing and accept mail in orders. I have done multiple jobs with them before including my center vent and both tow hooks. They will be doing my Tundra wheels also.
