I figure with the money I have in it, I'm going to just stay with it for a bit. If putting a billet 6th gear in makes it completely solid, then why not at this point.

Depending on how I like it overall. I'll either stay with this transmission and change the rear gear to a 3.15, or I'll find a built T-56 and switch over to it and sell my MT-82.

I would want to know that I have beaten on the Calimer MT-82 pretty good and it's holding up before I would sell it to someone else. Unlike some people, I do have a conscience and will not sell a part that isn't up to spec unless I have completely explained the condition and why I'm selling it so someone knows exactly what they are getting.
Did they say what the cause of the 6th gear failure was? Why exactly it "broke"? As an outsider looking in, doesn't sound great.

That's a solid pathway forward. Who knows the transmission may be good to go now. I have the stage 2 Calimer in my 2015 and it is way better than the stock MT82 that was in it. I only have about 460 rwhp with the mods I have, and I don't track the car. I do drive the car and like to push it through the gears. I do hope everything works out in your favor from now on. Good luck.

They did not say why or what they think happened. I didn't push it, hopefully if it was something they made a mistake on, it was corrected and now I have a billet 6th gear to match the rest. I paid on Wednesday, but haven't heard from them I'm about to send another email requesting an update now.

They should have sent it right out on Wednesday, upon receiving payment. You’ve shown good faith in your part by paying for work twice. I think this situation warranted getting you knocked out quickly, but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. Hopefully you’ll receive it sometime next week.

My whip is a 22’ GT Roush P2 with full headers/exhaust and e85.

My mt82 died at around 5k on the odometer.

t56 magnum swapped and car made 800+ whp and 760 torque and NEVER grinds or anything, no lock out, nothing bad to say even after power shifting the daylights out of it…lol

Very very nice!! I sat in a 1,000whp car at Mustang week with the T-56 in it. The guy said go sit in my car and just push it into a few gears and let me know what you think....

The positive feedback as you push it into each gear was amazing. I have no doubt in my mind I will end up with a T-56 at some point!!

Well, it's finally getting shipped back to me. I still need to go pick up a new starter and a new rear tire....... :curse:

I received the transmission on Monday, they actually surprised me and sent the trans fluid as well. Currently waiting on a new starter to arrive. I reached out to the local dealership and they said it was going to be $677 for a new one........ F you..... I got online and ordered one and it should be here next week. The online starter with tax and shipping was $408.....

Also ordered my new MT R rear tire since I caught a chunk of metal in it when I was coasting and riding the shoulder... Tire barely had 2,000 miles on it, that is frustrating.

I'm almost 100% positive the new Ford Racing rear wheel bearing is out on the driver's side, so I went ahead and ordered that too. Hopefully, I'll be back to 100% driveable pretty soon.

There is one thing I am curious about. It is not the same transmission that I sent them. In the pic with the red circle you can see the cooling fin was slightly damaged. That happen during the shipping to me when I first received it.

This trans does not have the same damage on it. I’ll have to ask and make sure I got the same Level 4 that I paid for.

How are you going to go about verifying that it has what you paid for inside of it?

They probably just built you a new one and used the one you sent in as a core. Thats how engines/trans usually work

I would put money on them sending you the correct transmission. I don't think Calimer is a shady outfit. When I had questions about mine, they got right back to me and reassured me that I had just what I ordered and let me know that if I needed anything different, they would send it right out to me My question was about the output shaft being 2" long and I thought it was only supose to be 3/4" long. I was wrong. Good luck with the rest of your build. I think Calimer always send the fluid with the transmissions. They sent mine with fluid.

Yup, standard practice. They usually have them all built up ready to go and take yours as the core. Same deal with RPM trans when I sent my C5 trans in. I got a new (to me) one all built and they took my core to use for a future build.
