F/u question - the SC3s that came with the used set of wheels I got are 5 years old. They look like they've been well-used but plenty tread still on the two I have up front (I can take pics when I get home from work). I've got minimum spend on a cc to meet so I'll probably shell out for some new ones in a couple months, but wanted to ask those that know more than me and see if I should do it sooner.

If you can afford new tires it's hard to say now. The only thing is that a set of sticky tires can mask how fast of a "driver" you're becoming by just being grippier everywhere.

If you qualify look at Discount Tire's credit card. Usually gives you 6-12 months financing at 0%. I always use that as it just simplifies things.

5 years is a long time for tires. Once you scrub them in they start to dry out, and if they’re stored outside, temperature swings harden the tire.

honestly I’d probably ditch them.

I once drove a Porsche 911 on old tires and then beat my own time in a Jetta wagon with a broken rear swaybar. The trick: fresh tires vs 5 year old tires.

Guess I'll have some new Stones heading my way. Them things are expensive. I thought I looked maybe a month or two ago and they were in the $400s/tire, but they've absolutely rocketed up. Guess that'd be the tariffs hitting.

I lied. The Stones felt a bit too expensive at this point in time, so went with a set of RT660+s. Had a little more camber added to the front, running 2.5* up front and 2* in the rear. 0 toe. We’ll see what happens.

If you do a lot of street miles, you want a little bit of toe in up front. Like 1/32-1/16”. These cars eat inside front tires.

Rear toe-in should be 1/8” or a bit more.

I really don't drive a ton in general anymore. WFH, living 5 minutes from work on the weeks I do go in, and having multiple vehicles have minimized the mileage on any one car lol. I'll keep a close eye and get him to dial a bit more in if it's starting to feather.
Rear toe for stability at speed, right?

They're the pluses

I'll be curious to hear if Falken fixed the compound problem that plagued the previous 660s. I am in the boat of I will let everyone else test out the 660+s since the 660 was such a crap tire after 3-7 heat cycles.

Compound is unchanged per AWH, just removed one ply from the tread if I remember correctly - which is was enough to make them faster than previous version.

Update for those of you curious - I’m still kicking it around. Another event this weekend where I was 4th/6 in CAM (41/77 in PAX and 44/77 in raw). Was on track for novice of the year until some guy showed up and started smoking me. Somehow immediately competitive in CAMC and two top 10 PAX finishes. Annoying, but can't do anything about it.

Wanted to see if any of y’all had seat recommendations. I’m a short and wide boy. I installed my QuickFit, but still need something to help hold me in because I feel like I’m sliding all around in my heated/cooled seats. Would probably nab a harness bar as well (no immediate plans for the track, so can’t imagine a roll bar is currently a necessity).
