Long story short, my car was at the body shop and had to get the drivers door replaced, they killed my battery. My Auto Unlock wasn’t working and I assumed it was because of the crappy battery, I had already checked all the settings.

I just got a new battery today.. and it still is not working. This body shop blows and had to tell them of multiple issues and bring my car back several times. They didn’t connect my turn signal and my door interior was all lose and floppy. So my question is, is there anything inside the door that needs to be connected that they could have left unconnected that is causing my issue?… it don’t do anything when I touch the handle either. Never had an issue before the car going to the shitty shop.

I would Take it back to the shop that serviced it. Most likely they left something disconnected.

Also if your car is on an incline as a safety feature Ford disables the auto unlock feature

Dumb question, the Ford manual states that the driver door has to be opened within 10 minutes of shutdown for autounlock to happen. Since the door sense is in the latch have you checked to see if the car is registering the driver door opening?

If they killed your battery try resetting the battery monitor system.

Turn on the power but don't start the car. Flash the high beams with the turn signal stock 5 times. Then press and release the brake pedal 3 times. Wait about 15 seconds and the battery icon on the dash should flash a few times. Shut the power off. That may turn back on things the computer shut off because of a bad battery.

If insurance sourced and pays the shop just go back to insurance and refuse to deal direct with their vendor. They can get a different shop as the repair is not complete yet.

It shows the door is open on the dash…

I did the BMS reset soon as I put the battery in the car.

I’m not taking it back to the shop unless something goes stratospherically wrong because they suck and I don’t trust them, every time they touch the car, something else is fucked up.

Been busy so just trying to see if there is something in the door panel that could be disconnected before I take it apart when I get some time.

Not sure if this will help your situation but maybe good looking into it.

Post #19 of this thread may be your solution too for the driver side door handle intelligent access issue:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/intelligent-access-not-working-driver-side-only.187049/

Also do as also suggested, if the car was repaired through your Insurance, then reach out to them and voice your concerns; you are their customer and it’s their job to not only approve the repairs but also to ensure the job is done to your satisfaction. Repairs are supposed to be done so it’s returned to pre-damage condition as far as repair, paint and any functions associated with the repaired part. If you didn’t go through insurance and maybe paid the shop out of pocket, paid with a CC, contact your CC company and have them stop the payment or reverse it due to the problems you’re having.

For anyone in the future, check the connections in the door. Looks like they tried to connect it but it wasn’t pushed in all the way. It’s working now.

Which connector was loose? The one for the u lock mechanism? Or the smaller one for the handle? Dealing with the same issue right now :(

Attached are two photos.

One, the handle itself; it has both a inductive (fob sensing) and capacitive (hand sensing) coupler.

The second photo, look to where the handle would be. That's the Door Control Module (DCM).

The two highlight several door connections needed for keyless entry to work.

Edit,

As to the rest, there are connections for entertainment, windows, mirrors and side impact sensors.

I've had this exact issue for a year after body shop repair (I gave up). Did the BMS reset, looked through every option, etc. Just curious, would you think this issue also prevents the trunk from automatically unlocking? That's my issue (along with the doors). I assume it's all connected.

That I am not sure of, I cannot remember if I had an issue with the trunk or not. I only had an issue with my driver door as well, passenger door worked fine at that time.

Oh my god! Where were you this weekend that document was exactly what I was looking for! For anyone else in my shoes in the future-I had a terminal loose in the unlocking circuit on the larger connector for the latch actuator. Pic included
