I just went through the same decision...ordered a car last week. I was set on the PP in a premium GT and talked to a couple of guys I know that have the PP. They both said the 3.73's have a very short 1st gear with this slush box and they both take off in 2nd during normal driving. Gears 1-2-3 go like quick and one of them told me the torsen diff feels like a spool when it's cold out and the thing needs to warm up before the skipping stops around corners. I've heard that complaint from a guy with a Boss. I don't like all black wheels, and do love the big brakes though.

Anyway, I decided to go with a manual GT premium with the 401A and still have a little regret for not ordering the PP, but I think I'll be happy. I have my own upgrades planned and I'll pick what they are. The only real regret is the brakes and it's good to hear you guys with the 4 piston fronts like the way they perform.

Well I've had the torsen 3.73 for two coyotes now and have none of those complaints. The brake upgrade alone is worth the price of the pp though so I feel like that little bit of regret is going to stay there forever.

I have the GT Premium with 400A and 6-speed also. Really have no regrets not getting the PP. For everyday street driving it does everything well IMO. The transmission has close enough gear ratios between 1st and 5th that I even like the 3.31 differential. :D

I care about infotainment
The 3.73s are the one downside of the PP but I think it's something you can get used to. At least I hope so since I ordered a PP haha

What are you really loosing? The brakes mostly.

Springs, swaybars K-brace and strut tower can all be installed aftermarket very easily (Ford Racing, Steeda, etc). Springs $250-275, K-brace/strut tower $180, swaybars bout $350-500 depending on brand. The aftermarket will also be better than whats on the the PP.

Spoiler delete is free option for any car.

The 3.55 on the auto is a better choice than the 3.73 on the PP to begin with.

The gauges are cool looking but really serve little actual function that you cannot live without.

Unless you track the car though the 4 piston stock GT brakes are plenty good. 4 piston were the top upgraded brakes in previous years.

I would have liked the brake upgrades, since those are pricey otherwise... however a good set of rubber and some much better pads and the 4 piston ones will do fine ...especially since mine is likely not seeing a track day without the addition of a roll cage.

I do have 6 piston front and 4 rear on my ZR1 (with a biasing valve, stainless lines, good rubber and great pads) and they are amazing... almost as fun as running up through the gears is hitting a wall when you stop.

The rest of the package is taken care of aftermarket with springs/swaybars and k members, etc... and I like the 50th package wheels better. Also would probably not be able to get traction with a supercharger, 6 speeds, and a 3.73 gearing. :)

I went auto and love it. Not missing the PP because I don't track or auto cross and its a hell of a fun car to drive. The auto transmission is sweet and the drive modes are cool. Those PP wheels are ugly and didn't want to have to buy another set of tires for winter. The only debate for me was auto or manual... The PP wasn't really a consideration for me. But it's a lot of stuff for an amazing price if you are going to really use/it. Depends on you!

IRS wheelhop parts do wonders for the GTPP, otherwise its just hopping forever on launches, all that power does nothing if its not put down on the ground.

The Torsen differential is a big plus, too.

I use it as a daily driver 700 miles in 5 months cause I'm retired. The auto is a rev matching down shift trans with a very low first Gear ratio not like the old 06 model. I had a 06 Shelby GTH auto and it was a BORE. The 2015 is not.... and it will out run a manual in the 1/4 with equal drivers. I'll buy a Shelby GT 350 once they are in and I can test drive one ( 2017) Not a daily driver !
I don't track my cars anymore. But I've owned a ton of Ford products in the past.

Has anyone mentioned seats? Doesn't the PP come with Recaro seats? The six piston Brembos and the Recaro seats make it worth it, even though I opted out of it. The only thing I don't care for is the 3.73 gear.

Nope on the Recaro's. It's an extra $1595 option.

I like rowing gears and I like the exhaust sound a manual makes when you romp on it, clutch in, new gear, clutch out, romp on it again.

Automatic is one monotone boring sound
