That is true. There are times I don't have the keys with me where the number pad is handy. It is a rare occurrence so not a huge deal.
since 2000 I've had key pads on my excursion, f150, fusion, flex, and fusion hyrbid. I can count on 1 finger the number of times I've used it. waste of money to me.

True, for some it is unnecessary but for others it is a nice feature. Would be nice if it was a stand alone option that could be ordered at a reasonable price. That said, my F-150 was an XLT and had an actual key and an ignition switch. With the keyless and push button start it is a little less useful.
