I hope they develop the availability here, in that it broadens out into more options versus the pretty much fully loaded premium versions they'll be starting with. It would be nice to get a base GT in non-premium for just under 60k or so.

Unfortunately I think me owning a Mustang is getting further away again, and it will likely be a secondhand one when I do.

I suspect that they will offer one spec level only for both the EB and GT in line with what they'll be doing for Europe and that they've done for the Focus and Fiesta ST.

I'd like to see what the 'source' BLITZM referred to earlier has to say about the prices from the dealer bulletin.

I meant in coming years the model might make itself more at home and be more option-able, but yeh I don't really see that happening.

Who says the dealer bulletin is correct or if it even exists...

It definitely does exist - no information other than an lower and upper price range and saying that more details would be published soon.

Then in early 2015 Ford will drop the bombshell, 39,990 for ecoboost, 59,990 for the GT.....

This is possible even with the falling $A. At the current US 87c a loaded GT (US$43K - about right?) equates to about A$49K.

BLITZM, is this speculation or intel? Has there been revised information since this?;
Turbo 43K drive away.
V8 66K drive away.

It will not happen at that price. Just as a point of comparison the Focus ST sells for 38k + onroads here (or about 42.5k OTR). In the states the ST sells for 25k as a base or around 29k for a fully optioned model - yes I realize that it's a different car and our STs aren't US built, but applying the same price differentiation logic to the Stang there is absolutely no way it will come here at those prices.

Considering that a decently optioned Ecoboost is in the high 30s without the Euro/export requirements...

It will be interesting to see what the next DCB says.

A loaded GT is about $46k U.S. MSRP on mine is $45,190 and the only option left for me to get was Nav which is $800.

This is 6 weeks old intel. Things do change though so don't shoot the messenger.

True - but if they want to sell in numbers they better give us a big price surprise. Not too many people can afford a semi-useless 60K+ toy car.

Let me get this right - ST is 29K there, 38+OTR here - so how does this differ from Oz. Mustang is in the high 20's in USA so high 30's+OTR should be spot on for Oz...

So that equates to 1.7x for OTR pricing
Which would mean...

Mustang EcoBoost Fastback (100A): US$25,995 = AU$44,191
Mustang EcoBoost Fastback (200A): US$29,995 = AU$50,991
Mustang EcoBoost Fastback (201A): US$31,790 = AU$54,043
Mustang Ecoboost Premium Convertible (P8U): US$35,495 = AU$60,341

Mustang GT Fastback (300A): US$32,925 = AU$55,972
Mustang GT Premium Fastback (400A): US$36,100 = AU$61,370
Mustang GT Premium Fastback (401A): US$38,720 = AU$65,824
Mustang GT 50 Year Limited Edition (500A): US$46,995 = AU$79,891
Mustang GT Premium Convertible (P8F): US$42,425 = AU$72,122

Sounds about right, although based on the latest media indications of $50 - $70k may be a little low...
Let's hope the earlier indications of $40k+ are accurate!

Best comparison is when you use a car that is currently made in the USA and imported into Australia. Look at the Chrysler prices.

The US Chrysler site has a 300 SRT Core at US$46K MSRP and locally they are $60.5K drive away.

I'm going to hang my balls out there and say 59k + on roads for the GT

This sounds like a bargain but remember its the plain jane edition with all the cool models (GT350, GT500) yet to come. An attractive sticker price for the entry GT gets bums into the Mustang and sets up the scene nicely for a 79k GT350 and 89k GT500 in 2016, 2017 respectively.
