  1. Peak ICE?

Have we reached peak ICE development? Would any car companies still be investing in further R&D on the pure internal combustion engine? No doubt hybrid tech getting most attention with ICE.
  2. Starting in 2nd gear- anybody doing this? Ford thinks we should!

You're right, I hadn't noticed the asterisk - so for EB only. Sorry for creating a useless thread! Will say all Aussie GTs had 3.55 gears, certainly the early ones did - not sure about more recent ones.
  3. Starting in 2nd gear- anybody doing this? Ford thinks we should!

Still reading the instruction manual after more than eight years of ownership. I was stunned by two things on this page, the horrendous quoted economy from Ford (especially for the manual), I'm sure we're all doing better than this. And the bit at the bottom; "On vehicles with manual...
  4. Header Coatings

Re longevity of exhaust components, conditions here in Australia are very different to much of the Northern Hemisphere. Most of us here in Oz would never encounter snow on the road and so no salt. Certainly my coated mild steel (Pacemaker) headers still look 'as new' after 3 years. As to the...
  5. REX Ramjet headers

I agree. Fast idle at start up drives me mad. In our new Outback XT it's frenetic at start up and for an extended period of time too. Must waste so much fuel.
  6. REX Ramjet headers

I'll be interested to see if they do this for you. When I asked my tuner, they refused saying it was needed for emissions reasons to warm the cats.
  7. REX Ramjet headers

The addition of extractors certainly added rasp. šŸ™„ With the tune it's also added low down torque. šŸ™‚ I still find, three years later, I'm in 3rd then I thought it was 2nd.
  8. Australian spec Mustang owners photos

Captures how fun this car is...
  9. REX Ramjet headers

Just to give you more to consider; Pacemaker claim they are Tuned Length rather than Equal Length. Discuss... šŸ™‚
  10. REX Ramjet headers

When I had my Pacemakers headers and mid pipe / resonators fitted, I had no check engine light. Did get the car tuned a few weeks later and never drove especially hard prior to the tune.
  11. Header Coatings

I had my Pacemaker headers coated by Ceramic Coat Australia (next door to Pacemaker). For visual appeal I avoided the 'chrome' look as it's dark down in the engine bay and the chrome disappears. Instead I had Dale use a silver and I think it looks terrific.
  12. What is the single best performance suspension mod you have done

Certainly no one magic bullet but if I have to say which mod (all listed below) made the greatest difference, I'd say the RLCA spherical bearing. But that could just be the timing as it was essentially the last thing I did and then everything just felt right.
  13. S550 2019 GT Engine Knocking / Pinging Once Fully Warmed Up

Yes I’ve got the same sticker on my 2016.
  14. S550 2019 GT Engine Knocking / Pinging Once Fully Warmed Up

šŸ˜€ Well how about that! After 7+years of ownership, I’d never really noticed the E10 sticker. I’ll stick to 98 ā€˜tho.
  15. S550 2019 GT Engine Knocking / Pinging Once Fully Warmed Up

I’m sure my 2016 GT needs 98 and that’s with the 11:1 coyote. I would have thought the 12:1 2018+ motor would need 98 even more.
  16. Mustang GT Insurance Companies

Shannons for allowing mods. End of story.
  17. What Upgrades/Mods are you going to do to your Mustang?

Interested in people's thoughts: Car was custom tuned three years ago after installing headers and mid-pipe. Stock rear mufflers were still on then. Now the exhaust is complete 3" with Varex rear boxes. Is it worth a re-tune?
  18. Oz S550 spotted thread

Ahh yes, hadn't thought of that. The 18s may not be as visible with the engine cover.
  19. Oz S550 spotted thread

Re the colour of the extractors, I initially thought black as well but then settled on silver (definitely NOT chrome), because you can see them and they're a work of art!
