The 1 series is owned by a friend of mine, it was a great afternoon so we went out for a run.
Where I live has a similar climate to southern Florida, but just a bit hotter during winter. Never see snow at all. Convertibles are a little more popular the further south you travel in Australia...
6 1/2 years has flown by, I still love this thing just as much as the day I got her.
For some reason convertibles aren't very popular in Australia - no idea why.
Yes, I took it in and after a lot of fighting it got fixed under warranty. Ford Australia were good, but the dealer was trying their best to wipe their hands of the issue.
What metal needs to be cut?
I fitted it to my 2017 and only had to drill a couple of holes in the plastic trims on either side - a very straightforward install. It works brilliantly, can easily cruise on the motorway with the windows and deflector up and still listen to the radio, talk on the...
I installed the new PCV not long after my last post and it had a similar effect to what you describe with the idle etc.
Mine is not pinging anymore - whether it is a coincidence or just luck, I don't know. It is the middle of summer here in Australia at present and the ambient temperatures have...
Just a further update on this one, I've been driving the Mustang around and have only heard very slight, barely audible signs of pinging in instances where it would have been really bad before, that being 2-3500rpm at moderate to heavy throttle. Mine is automatic, so it's more susceptible than a...
My apologies, I thought that the photo may be self explanatory as I said it was behind the rear wheel.
I noticed the hoses when I pulled the trunk liner out to fit the subwoofer - that photo is the floorplan. You would have to access them from underneath the car.
I have absolutely no idea...
There are hoses on either side of the top well - they discharge to behind the rear wheel on either side. I don't know how to clean them - they look like the top part would be a nightmare to access.
Apologies for the poor photo, but you can see the hose behind the wiring.
Sorry for the delayed update.
I did the plugs today - I didn't have too much chance to drive the car due to thunderstorms, but will have another try tomorrow if the weather is good. It started and idled very smoothly however.
The gap on the factory plugs was different on all 8 cylinders - I'll...
I'm going to try and get those plugs fitted this weekend - I'm finally not working night shift for a change. I will update you on the outcome. If it fixes the problem, I'll pass on the supplier I got mine from (based on the Sunshine Coast) - far cheaper than Repco, Supercheap etc.
I haven't been able to do it yet unfortunately - I've been quite unwell and have had a lot of other stuff going on with work and renovations, so the Mustang hasn't had any attention or use. I've had the plugs sitting there for some time. Will hopefully be getting them fitted within the next...
I
I've gone for LTR7IX-11 (6510), one step colder than the stock plug. Should be here tomorrow, so I'll fit them and give it a test. I believe they come gapped to 0.043, I may take that to 0.047 or something, to the lower end of the factory gap range.
