I'm surprised they sold 5K given that '18 is an extensive refresh and '17 inventories are low..........dealer closest to me only has 2 5.0 GT's on the lot.....

2010: Just watch all those people buying the 2011's will want their 4.6's back when they realize the 5.0 won't ...(insert desperate need to justify keeping their car here while projecting).

2017: Just watch all those people buying the 2018's will be dealing with all those issues. They'll miss their old motors when they realize that...(......)

The Camaro didn't have the initial sell power to last another 12 months. The winter will be hard on Lansing and the Camaro in general.

Expect another 10-20% decrease, month to month, for the Camaro in the next year. It would have be more profitable to continue the 5th Gen into 2019 with the LT1 than the 6th Gen was total. It was an awful business plan...

Not in my area. Local dealer has 29 17's.

The problem with this thread is that 15-17 owners took offense right off the bat - but as a current sales thread, it's not about existing owners. The argument was simply stating that the lower sales show that given the choice today, the majority of those in the market for a Mustang are "appearing" to choose to wait for the 18 rather than buy a 17, even if the 17 will sell at a lower cost.

I've got them confirmed with the deal already. They are applicable to any x-plan purchase. One is $750 ( expires in Jan), one is $500 ( expires mid october: might not deliver on time to get it but dealer said they would honor after pressing) and $750 private cash.

Could you share what these are/where you found them? I am still working with my overseas dealer for US delivery, and they are saying "No" to anything other than standard X Plan. I did see something one time that said something about "stateside only" but i can't remember details. I do get the car tax free, though, so there's that.

This assumes of course that you somehow know the overall demand for the car was significantly higher than what was sold.

There is no information available about how many people wanted to buy a Mustang but didn't. So why bother speculating.

Congrats you just used opinion to try and broadcast fact!

The fact that you are grouping owners by years of Mustang they own rather than as Mustang owners shows a lot about you.

The sales decline has been happening for months. Car sales are down across the board for all makes/models. Only thing seeing growth is CUV/SUV sales and possibly trucks.

Tax free? Nice! Luckily in SC it's just $500 max for tax. I was able to get those offered through my local dealer who post EVERY incentive available to buyers on the website under each vehicle in a link titled "All offers on this vehicle". Think student discount, first responders, I saw one for employees of Stanley Morgan bank I think. I will send you the link because it won't upload the PNG screenshot.

I'd say the best of both worlds that's why I went for the 18.

Again I disagree. Its just a case of market saturation. There is only so many S550 Mustang buyers out there. And the majority of Buyers have already bought theirs. I don't understand where you new members are getting people are offended? Most of us have been offering the same opinion about sales for the entire 2017 sale year. Which as a whole. Has been down compaired to 15-16. Do you honestly think the 2017 month of January Mustang sales were down do to the upcoming 18 models? That at the time. All we knew about. Was a front end change.
