You will have to bring it in for diagnostics to find out what has gone wrong. Mine was the evaporator core leak under the dash. The new parts have supposedly been improved. To fix requires pulling the entire dash out. Not a DIY in my opinion. Total cost was about 3K give or take. The technician knew what he was doing / had done about 25 just like it before me. No dash squeaks afterward either. I was lucky and it was only in the shop for 3 days. It's a lot of money but I could not live with no A/C. Best of luck to you.

Riddle me this...I noticed the fan that turns on when the AC goes on, did not turn on.
Is this a cause or a symptom?
Based on the typical issues with this car, most likely empty system from a leaky evaporator.

While they can happen, I'd be shocked if it was a bad clutch.

Well here is your shock...bzzzzt. lol
It is a clutch failure, not a leak. All the 134 is still there and everything else works but the clutch. So about $400 to $500 in parts maybe?
After 8 years (what, already?), a new compressor is needed...

If the system was full, you are 100% correct. Clutch is a way easier fix, you are very lucky! My car is also 8 years old and I still love it!

Has anybody here swapped out a bad compressor and do you have any helpful hints?
Do we have a valeo or sp type of compressor?
TIA!

I’m still wondering if the dealership was honest when my compressor clutch went out.
They insisted on an entire compressor and clutch assembly.

I have developed a slow leak a couple of years after my evaporator was replaced under warranty. I just do an evac and recharge every 15 months or so. I’m not paying that much out of pocket to have it replaced again. When I build my shop I may attempt to replace it myself.

Is anyone able to confirm if the evaporator core for r1234yf system in a 2019 is the same part as the one referenced for the r134a system in the 2015-2017 s550s? I can only seem to find the full assembly referenced for 2019+.

Looks like we're now in this same boat. Had it recharged last year and it's back to warm again this year. Dealership quoted $2600 to repair. The part is less than $300 on our GT. I know there are other parts involved as well as recharging the system, coolant, compressor oil, etc. Anyone recently reached out to Ford to get any kind of coverage or reduction on this? The car has 11k miles on it... hardly enough use to warrant a $2600 repair. I imagine they'd tell me to pound sand given it's 10 years old.

My 2011 Mustang GT is now having this issue at 77K miles. Every place lists the DR3Z-19850-C Evaporator Assembly as discontinued and I can't get it anywhere....going to have to refill as I go.

The dealership installed a new evaporator core in our 2015 today and it immediately started leaking... So now they have another on order for Thursday. What a shitshow...

I replaced mine a few months ago. Wasn't convinced that the Motorcraft Evaporators were the best option so I went with an aftermarket unit. I wanted the Dealer to replace the Evaporator because I REALLY didn't want to do it & I didn't really trust the independent shops to pull that much of the interior apart without damaging things. But the Dealer wouldn't stand behind their work if they installed a non-Motorcraft part. No idea why. They use plenty of non-Motorcraft parts for lots of repairs. So I had to replace the d@#$ thing myself. It's a load of work but with the service manual it's not too impossible. Just lots of work. And the dash is heavy and awkward to man-handle by yourself. Took a few weeks to get it done but I think it was the best solution for me. Time will tell if I made a good or bad choice with the aftermarket Evaporator. I replaced the TXV as well since it sits at the end of the AC Lines on the Evaporator. It's pretty cheap and easy to replace.

ps. I wanted to replace the Heater Core while the Climate module was out of the car but it's not a simple operation to remove the Heater Core. You have to completely disassemble the Climate module including cutting the foam insulation that the dash rests on. I didn't want to cut that foam.

I also replaced the blower motor while I had things apart. It wasn't difficult but the blower motor isn't cheap. But while I had things apart I replaced what I could.

Hope you get yours sorted out.
