How did you wire the amp? Did you use a line-out converter or some other signal amplifying source?

Got all the bugs worked out. They were all due to me being new to car audio but it sounds great! Car is as loud at 1/4 of the volume with the new amp when it was at 3/4 volume with the stock amp.
How about the sound in terms of clarity? Big difference in the highs?

I used the connectors that are mentioned in the sticky. Went from the low level inputs to RCAs and straight to my amp.

Not a big audiophile, but everything sounds crisp and clear with some good bass to my untrained ears. A friend of mine who installs custom systems told me I wouldn't notice a difference if I went straight to a sound processor then amp like others here.

You usually get 3 things with a sound processor: LOC's which you didn't need, multi-band equalization and time alignment.

I'm going to give it a shot and go straight to the amp without the sound processor as well and see if I'm happy. If not, I'll just plug and play.

I actually have those components installed right now without an amp. To me the center channel is too loud and takes away from the overall system. You might like it if you install those speakers and get rid of the center channel.

I'm going to install an amp this weekend and get rid of the center channel, which should get it to where I like it.
I feel the exact same way about the center speaker... It's been bothering me since day one. I would sit in my car covering all the speakers with my hand didn't notice any difference when I covered the 3.5 speaker

I actually had my doors hush matted recently to get rid of bass rattle and while the doors were off we found that one of the 3.5 speakers had a rattle inside it when turned up too loud. I had them replace it with a Hertz 3.5 and not only did that fix the issue, but the extra sound coming out of them has made the center speaker a non issue for me.

I was considering an audio processor, and still might go that route, but as of now I'm much happier with the front then i was before. I changed the back speakers with JBL's and even though it's better I still feel it really lacks for now. I never knew how much work I would be doing to make the 9 speaker premium sound system actually sound like premium sound

When I get around to replacing my speakers, I'll probably just replace the center one as well. Doesn't seem to hard to get to, according to the service manual. Basically just involves removing the dash trim that goes across the 3 ac vents (or gauge cluster for PP owners) and pulling up on the center speaker grille.

Just so you know, I spent an hour today installing a pair of GTO638s in the rear on my '16. They barely sounded any better. Totally not worth the hour of headache and frustration installing them. Maybe the '16s are improved over the '15s everyone complains about, or I am just not audiophile enough to notice.

The main issue I had was to hear the back I had to fade the sound 2 notches. Now that I have my GTO638s in I don't have to do that, but to me it didn't really improve anything... Just made it louder. Not sure with these cars if any speaker can really increase the quality without and amp.

It's garbage in, garbage out. If you don't step up the wattage to aftermarket speakers they won't make a significant improvement in sound.
