Likely simplicity and costs. I doubt the intake helps THAT much unless there are other changes that increase airflow. Even the stock Mach1/GT350 isn't limited by its intake, so I almost feel its more of a marketing move we already know Ford could hit 480HP with 1 airbox and 500+ would be easily achievable too. The only other option I can think of is that they are planning a future motor that COULD make use of a dual box, with a higher redline, so they are just making parts ahead of time to drive down the manufacturing price.
Idk it looks like it might fit, the manifold body looks the same. The only thing is see is if the 7 points next to the runners are mounting points. That might be a problemIt’s similar to the original 2015 Coyote cover…
I always assumed it was more of an homage to the mid-80s Fox Mustang dual intakes rather than being a functional improvement. Maybe with the new EPA requirements there's a benefit, or the throttle body provides better air control. I have no idea. It could certainly just be a styling choice as there's no reason a single pipe can't be "right sized".
I'm not familiar with those cars, but all the images I see online have a single inlet.
