Yeah, I had a similar experience to you, but just with the bonus of a lot more added stress along the way haha. Put an order in with Chapman last year in November, and I’ve still heard nothing about that order. Saw Ourisman being advertised with a below MSRP offer as well and figured might as well give it a try. Put in an order with them the beginning of June and yesterday got a build date. It’s crazy how much the dealer you order from completely changes things.
Im in the process today of ordering one through Ourisman decided to give it a try as my other dealer isnt getting anything done. They said the order bank is still open

Can I stuff 4 M1 Sport Cup 2s into a M1? Wanting to switch them out at the dealer for a long trip home.

Dont make try to ask in the reg s550 forum. Please. :)
1 trunk, 2 backseat, 1 passenger seat

I’d recommend bringing towels/sheets to wrap the wheels to protect the interior

and ratchet straps to secure the load. 50lbs flying around the cabin in not something you want to entertain.

did you not read the previous hundred pages? :)

It's trivial to order one. best guess the scheduling handcuffs have been removed and dealers who had long queues of orders are finally getting served in quantity far above the inexplicable stingy allocation Ford has spent half a year crucifying them with.

Ourisman's M1 queue is about 12 currently. There is no penalty for not picking up a custom order.
3.5pct below invoice is still in play (pencils out to 2% below once you factor in the 'doc fee').
You want to ask for Jason Clark 571-221-3807

If you want a car for sure, go look on dealer lots.

Well Im on the fence... dealer has one on the lot and they are not sure when they will get more... its the spec I want only issue for me is that I prefer to buy cars that have not been in the showroom.

What should I do? is it relatively safe to wait or I could end up with nothing...

Long story short I finally got my car. Original order was either last day of October 2021 or the 1st. I think I originally got one of the first 100 or so off the line so I lost out on that. Ford and chap pointing at each other. Resulted in an additional 6 month wait, chassis number now is 2300s. I really don't see how Ford produces over 3000 of these. For sure there will be cancellations for those debating about waiting.

As for the overall Chapman experience I'd say 8/10. The deal is good, which honestly helps them a lot otherwise it would be 6/10. Very good communication, yet comes off as possibly understaffed? Or disingenuous (conspiracy theory that the lackluster attention leads to more retail cancels and resale)? How many cars do you sell (especially under COVID) to not notice the discrepancy between what was ordered by a customer and what Ford plans to build. The customer has no access to this and Ford chat always referred me to contact the dealer. So it's either bug them all the time or trust that the dealer is tracking everything (unlikely). Took about 2 weeks from when the car arrived to actually being able to come in for it. Reason being that they have a lot of cars and everything is in order. Paperwork was fine, will be asked the extra standard stuff, was not annoyingly pushy. Several mach 1s just sitting on the lot, at least one in the showroom. The wait doesn't end when the car gets there lol.

Would I use them again? That depends on if I buy a Ford product again. I have no interest in anything they offer than the mustang. I cross shopped this with a Tesla and lucid (odd yeah I know). People drag Ford's build quality including the mustang, but everything feels solid. It's incredible what Tesla allows to leave the factory. In my search was just normal to have broken vehicles available for sale inside the showroom.

By the time I am in the market for another one I'm not even sure what the dealership role will be regarding sales. For other products sometimes no better deal exists than that of the OEM sometimes however the distributors have a better deal than the OEM.
Going to have to drop my rating to 7.5/10 waiting for PDI is fine but not when it's not done right lol. Was riding stiff and felt very unstable at high speeds. Found shipping blocks left by Chapman who I know sold a lot of M1s. Now I'm questioning everything else I trusted lol. Vehicle may also already need an alignment, haven't determined yet if it's due to the blocks.

If they leave those shipping blocks in, makes you wonder if they did anything! Those are so obvious. I’m not even going to mention them in advance to my dealer in Colorado, but I will definitely check during MY PDI! If they’re there, dealer will be put on the carpet!!! Hoping that it’s a smooth clean process!

I'm doing the same thing and UPS-ing at least 2 of the Cup2's home. At least that is the plan. What ever I can fit in the trunk makes the trip there, the rest get wrapped up and shipped home. I don't really want that tire smell in the cabin for 2000 miles.
See previous post. I already bought PS4S's from a Discount Tire store near my Dealer, and Michelin is having a $110 off a set of 4 tires promo.

I can't imagine there is much room for them to move around in those tiny back seats. Plus they'd be extra shock absorption in an accident.

Not an excuse, but it sounds like they’re busy, may not have even put it on a lift, anyone can drive it around back, pull the plastic and seat covers off and hose it down “PDI”

it's not like the general manager is going to get his hands dirty servicing something as mundane as a Mustang. the same 'devil may care throw a bucket of dirty water at it" people do that first wash too. I'll bet you 9/10 dealer persons wouldn't bat an eye using the same towel on the body panels as they just used to wipe down the tire sidewalls.
